I wonder how many folks really pay attention to what is surrounding them as they drive along the way going to and from places. Of course you have to keep your eyes on the road if you're driving, but if you're in the passenger seat, do you see the flowers along the side of the road like these that Marsha Galbraith photographed in Keweenaw Bay? She said she really liked the color combination, so she snapped a photo to remember that for her own flower garden next year.

The white flowers in the second photo were something that Marsha hadn't seen there in Pequaming before. She said they were not far from First Sand Beach there. If any of you viewers know what they're called, please let us know. They're such a bright white and so dainty looking!

Marsha's last entry in the flower show today, is your typical U.P. field of wild flowers. Quite an assortment of different kinds of flowers and varying heights, that make for a beautiful scene for painting, puzzle making or framing to hang on your wall. Enjoy!

Beautiful flowers, Marsha!
I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I haven't been in the Keweenaw for two years, and we are leaving on Friday for a week! I know it's a slow time after Labor Day, but if anyone knows of anything going on next week that we shouldn't miss, please post. Can't wait!

What 'wild' beauty!!

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 - 11:03 am:

I'm continually amazed by the wildflowers AND planted gardens in the UP! Sometimes I wonder if the cooler nights make brighter blooms on those gardens! We come UP to Aura once a month in the summer and also visit the Keweenaw every time. Each month there are different wildflowers to enjoy and even different flowers from year to year, as evidenced by the white ones! I don't remember ever seeing them on that corner in the past!

We always like the bee balms too ~ tho my Grandma
called them bergmot! Same flower, different name.
Hers were bright red. Looks like there could be
white ones in the picture with the pink?

Wow, Marsha! You sure know how to "stop and smell the flowers."
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

Beautiful.

I could be wrong, but I think the white flowers are called Pearly Everlasting. At least they look like them.
Nice photos!
