Kassy Kallio took her kiddos to the annual Houghton County Fair over the weekend, where they got to enjoy many of the rides, along with checking out some of the exotic animals like camels.

Just one look at the smiles on the faces of the kids will tell you whether they were enjoying their time on the rides. And just look at the camel photo. Who would have thought you'd see camels here in the Keweenaw? Houghton County Fair time is filled with fun for the whole family!

Great shots for an iPhone; those things can be finicky at best! These shots just scream the old county fair adage "A fun time to be had by all", except maybe for the camels...

The Allegan Co. Fair will be Sept 5-13th. I will spend the nine days helping the Allegan County Historical Society tend their historic village.

to be young again..certainly my first carnival
experiance taught me the law of physics..and
weightlessness..the ride was called the zipper..and
all the change was falling out of ppl. pockets..the
carnies were collecting it in a 5
gal.bucket..underneth the ride..looks like the
children were having a blast..great pics..

Philip...reminds me of the old days...After the
carnival left town...we'd go hunting on the
grounds...and ALWAYS found some cash!

back in the day, when they had pay phones everywhere, my brother and I use to take walks and check pay phones to see if somebody just left the money when the call did not connect. at times we did pretty good. that was back when a penny got you two (2) pieces of candy...LOL..LOL..
