hi, great pictures.;O)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 07:58 am:

I agree, Mickill.

My almost 15 year old "Tippy" made his journey to the 'Rainbow Bridge' yesterday. We adopted him when he was 8 weeks old. This old house sure is lonely this morning.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 08:05 am:

Shirley, I am so sorry for your loss of Tippy. I know all too well that loneliness you speak of!

By Cindy, New Baltimore, MI (Cindy) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 08:06 am:

Shirley, I'm so sorry for your loss. Our pets surely are members of our family.

By Waveaction (Lakelover) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 08:24 am:

For Tippy;

"I hope you're running wild and free now you have gone to eternity,
Free from pain and young again as once you used to be.
I hope you're running wild and free, as free as the wind in the trees,
Playing and purring in ecstasy, or sleeping and dreaming at ease.
I hope you're running wild and free, as free as the clouds in the sky,
Rushing excitedly, a kitten again, with eyes as blue as the sea.
I hope you're running wild and free, sometimes maybe remembering me,
For I know the time will come one day when we'll both be wild and free."

I am sorry Shirley, that you lost another dear friend.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 08:35 am:

Sorry for your loss, Shirley. My cat, Seagram was the same age when I had him put down at the vet’s office. Got him at B'Wana Don's when he was 8 weeks old, too. It was a bitter moment right up to the time I walked up to the front desk to pay the final vet bill…$450.00.
But, he was a good friend and worth every penny. I have a classic photograph of him sitting next to a Three Dog Night album entitled "It ain't Easy", it was his favorite.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 08:52 am:

Thank you all....you're so sweet!!

Alex, Tippy didn't like music ~ maybe 'cause I played it too loud.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 10:35 am:

My cat, Tippy, was the same age when we had him
put down last year. Shirley, in my e-mail last
night, I told you Tippy was 15 on the 28th. He
actually got put down on the 28th. Almost exactly
the same as your Tippy. It's so hard to lose a
pet. We love them so much and try to be so kind
to them because they bring so much to our lives.
We have another 15 year old cat and it scares me
because I know she probably doesn't have a lot of
time left. But while she's here, we'll spoil her.

Thinking of you at this time, Shirley. I don't
know whether or not you want to think about
adopting another cat, one that's not too young and
wild. My mom had her cat put down last fall. She
said she'll never get another. It's too
heartbreaking. Sending you hugs :-)

Love the bears, the Victoria Dam and In a Fog.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 11:39 am:

Thanks, Deb.
I've never had to do that and it was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make but I couldn't stand to see him suffer any further. And I agree with your Mom, don't think I could handle that heartbreak again. Have lost too many beloved 'little friends' in the past.

By laurh (Keeweewannabee) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 11:56 am:

Shirley, my sincere sympathies on your loss. It is a heartbreaking and miserable thing to have to do. Their departure does leave a hole in hearts and homes. I stopped seeking out new pets years ago however I will say that the "right" ones have found me in time. Thoughts are with you....

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, July 26, 2014 - 02:32 pm:

Thanks, laurh.
Tippy was 'dropped' on the road one cold November night in 1999 and he 'found' us the next day, and was an indoor kitty the remainder of his life.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, July 27, 2014 - 11:39 am:

Shirley, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your little friend, Tippy! We have lost many little friends over the years. They are truly like children, members of the family. But, they don't talk back - they just listen attentively. Hugs to you!

I love the bear cub sitting up and eating at the bird feeder. I also like Victoria Dam Falls and the Copper Harbor Lighthouse.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, July 27, 2014 - 02:17 pm:

Thank you, Marianne.
Tippy would 'talk back' sometimes but mostly he 'hummed'.;> And you're right, he was just like a child.
