I spent some time in Copper Harbor recently, with one of my planned stops being at Steve Brimm’s Studio, to purchase his latest coffee table book, titled: Copper Harbor – Michigan’s Northern Most Outpost. I knew that the photos inside would be outstanding and perfectly capture the essence of this beautiful little town at the tip of the Keweenaw and I was not disappointed.

Steve’s first photo here today, is from page 15 of his book, with the Isle Royale Queen dock and the Harbor waters canopied by an amazing rainbow, with a bonus reflection diving into the water.

His second photo is on page 11 in the book and is perfect for this time of year with the Manganese Creek running by in the background and a trio of ripe thimbleberries just waiting to be picked and made into jam.

The third photo, snapped by my husband, Jim Drew, captured the moment Steve was signing my copy of his book. It was taken in his Copper Harbor Studio, with his photographs surrounding us on the walls and racks. It is definitely a place you can get lost in for hours, just looking at all the prints available for purchase.

Yes, indeed, Steve knows this area and captures it beautifully in each and every photo in this book. If you’d like to get your own copy of Steve’s coffee table book, you can do so here: Order: Copper Harbor - Michigan’s Northern Most Outpost. Don’t stop at just one, though, as it would make a great gift for someone you know that loves Copper Harbor and the Keweenaw!

WOW! What a shot of the rainbow over Copper Harbor. Beautimous! I worked at Marco's Steakhouse (across from the Brickside Store) in the fall of '57. Then later at McGinty's Resort. I was a 'pearl diver', I did the dishes, etc. :o)

Steve should fire his publisher and get one who has a competent copy editor. "Northernmost" is one word.

Mary,

How nice to see a picture of you after all these years.

We're in Dallas for the weekend, where the prediction is for 102 degrees in the afternoon. But the good part is that our son is playing in a five game hockey tournament.

Happy Labor Day, everyone.

Bill
