During the winter months here in the Copper Country, you have to take advantage of the days when the sun comes out shining brightly and that's just what Judy Byykkonen has been doing. She straps on her snowshoes and away she goes. I'm sure glad Judy takes her camera along, snapping photos of things that draw her interest along the way. They're just simple things, but amazing in their simpleness, like the clump of snow hanging onto that branch. How does it do that, without snapping it right off the tree? Or the mound of snow on top the moss...balanced there, but not weighing it down enough to knock it off the branch.

Judy says whenever she's out in the woods on her snowshoeing adventures, she's never really alone, as there are always tracks from the critters and the Traprock River is nearby, open in places where the water is still moving along.

Yes, Judy's snowshoe's were made for walking and that's just what she does. Thanks for sharing your Snowshoe Tales with the rest of us. :->

Sometimes simple things are the best way to ease the mind on a cold winters day....
Thanks for sharing your snowy adventure with everyone, Judy!!!

Hi
I saw similar scences last weekend when I took my annual winter cross-country ski trip to our cabin near Cheboygan. I've never snowshoed, but after spending time working my way around trees bent over or down across the trails, I think I should give it a try. On the other hand, when I did have a clear run, I had a lovely glide.

But whichever method, it's wonderful to get out in the norh woods.
