Which year(s) above show skates?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, December 14, 2012 - 08:02 am:

1998 for sure and I don't know about 2011.

Nice pictures, though. Love the old stove.

Have a great Friday!

I'd like to add that you'd think there'd be skates in that toy drive, but I just don't see any. I've looked and looked. Does anybody else see any there?

By Sldmi (Sldmi) on Friday, December 14, 2012 - 08:07 am:

I only see skates in 1998. It's way too early for me to see if there are any in the toy drive photo. I love 2011, it reminds me of a town I drove through last night which was very nicely decorated, Brighton, MI. Have a great weekend everyone.

Yeah, I don't know about 2011, either, but it sure looks like an ice rink in the trees there. I absolutely love that picture!!! What a beautiful Christmas scene that is!

Congrats, Deb!;)
As I've mentioned once before, I always wanted to be an ice-skater but never even got the hang of roller-skating.:(

I once tried figure skating, but then someone put a stick in my hand and I haven't been the same since......

I'm going to have to see if I can come up with some photos for this little contest. Only problem is, nothing in the tropics reminds me of home!! K

Capt. Paul....maybe you can pull something out of your archives for the contest.

Let's all pray for the parents/families of the precious little children killed in Connecticut today. Such a sad tragedy!

By Waveaction (Lakelover) on Friday, December 14, 2012 - 04:19 pm:

So very sad, Shirley. Most of the children were only 5 years old. What has happened to this country?

Sending prayers to the parents, the children and the town.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Friday, December 14, 2012 - 04:22 pm:

Amen, many prayers for our Lord's comfort for all involved in the shooting. So many lives touched by this evil.

Such a horrible tragic event. So sad to think how all this precious little children were so excited for Santa's arrival at Christmas. Prayers and God's Blessings to all the families.

My grandson is only 5 years old, it could have been him. The end of the world is not going to be nuclear war....or December 21st.

By David C Cloutier (Dccloutier) on Friday, December 14, 2012 - 09:25 pm:

First we had Columbine, then Virginia Tech, Aurora, and some others I can't even name right now. It makes me wonder what we have done as a society to raise so many young men who are capable of doing these things. Somehow we need to figure out how to teach our children communication skills so they can verbally express their feelings rather than lash out in anger. And we need to teach them how to love other people and cherish life.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Friday, December 14, 2012 - 09:42 pm:

You're right, David, and it's unfortunately not just in our country. 22 children in a school in China were attacked today by an evil one wielding a knife.
