Tuesday morning, Marlin Wenberg snapped this photo of his wife, Barb, talking turkey with their unusual visitor in Dollar Bay. They figured it was a wild turkey, but Barb remarked that it sure seemed quite tame, for it to let her get so close by.

Barb snapped another view of the turkey as it went down their driveway, headed off I'm sure for a place to hide, so it won't become someone's Christmas dinner. Run, turkey, run and hide!

We finally got Thursday's Pasty Cam "On The Air" this afternoon, after some delays complicated by reaching the 700,000 pasty mark on our flavorful home page odometer. Thanks to all who have ordered during the Christmas rush, and I hope all of your packages arrive in great shape :o)

Thanks also for the outpouring of pictures for out "Toast to 2012" here at the end of the year. In case you missed it, we will be selecting from among all the photographers, one lucky Pasty Camist to receive a crunchy, cinnamony bag of Trenary Toast on December 31.

Turkeys can sense when a person is a vegan.

Love today's pictures! Smile makers! This blizzard that is passing through here in eastern Iowa leaving damage, power outages, including our house, to name a few things makes me almost wish for some "wild turkey!"

Now Mary, that turkey figures that folks only eat 'them' on Thanksgiving, so he felt it was safe to make an appearance.;>
