Shawn Wyant recently spent some time here in the U.P. and headed out to the Prickett Dam area to check things out. From the first two photos he took there, you can see that the water level is pretty high there right now. I'm just speculating, but that could be from all the rain we've been getting here lately or maybe not. Whatever the reason for the higher water there, it's always a sight to see with all the tree stumps and trunks sticking up out of the water like that. This would be a great place to explore in a kayak. I'll have to put that on my "to do" list for next year.

Shawn also shared a couple other shots in the area, that give you an idea of the winding down of the fall leaves. As I've been saying for the past week or so, the color here in the Keweenaw is for the most part over and done with, but you can still find trees holding on to their leaves here and there. Mostly yellows like the ones here in Shawn's photos. I hate to see the trees becoming more and more bare, but it's a nice scene when they're covering the ground on a trail like today's last photo, too. It sure would be nice if the Fall season could last a little longer.

Interesting pics this morning. I agree that it would certainly be nicer if the Autumn colors lingered much longer than they do. Perhaps Autumn is appreciated more than other seasons in part because it only lasts a short time. :-)

Another nice set of Autumn photos. I never tire of looking at them, perhaps no 2 scenes are alike (I don't think). And I would like 2 take this moment to wish my wife Kathy a Happy Sweetest Day, today.

I love that picture of the precarious path!
Yes, Thomas, a Happy Sweetest Day to your wife and you, and to all wives, husbands and sweethearts!:)

And a Happy Sweetest Day to you, too, Shirley, and yours.

Thank you, Thomas. Just wish I still had my sweetie here with me....but he is in my heart. :)
