Today we start out with the view across Torch Lake here in Lake Linden, that Amy Machiela gets to enjoy every day. She's the lady with the giant sunflower from a short time ago here on the Pasty Cam and you can see a few of those sunflowers on the right in this scene. I'm not sure it gets much better than this, folks!

The other two shots are from Melanie Hakala Rossi and I don't quite know where these "cottage" shots were taken here UP North, so you can take your pick where you want them to be, while you're sitting there at the camp enjoying the colors. Simply beautiful!

Wherever Melanie's shots were taken, I'd like to be throwing a line in there about now; looks like some good fishing. And I imagine I won't be the last to admit to being a bit jealous of Amy and her view everyday either!! ;-)

Beautiful shots ladies........

Absolutely beautiful! Maybe I'll get it right the next time I visit the Keweenaw in the fall. The last time, we were just past peak color and this year, we were just before peak color. I loved it anyway, but I sure would like to see views like these next time. Great shots!

I love the beautiful fall photos! We often take our surroundings for granted until somebody from away marvels at the beauty.

Gorgeous photos, ladies! My oldest son, a Tech Alum, is up there at Tech for a few days, recruiting for one of the Big 3 auto companies. I put a bug in his ear, hoping he can get out and get some great photos, too, as he is a big camera buff, himself. Hopefully, he can get a chance to get some awesome photos, too, and the weather and lighting cooperate when he is able to take a few minutes off!

Great reflections and colors.

Here's a view from a bit higher on September 30,

Yes, gorgeous! The more Autumn scenes, the merrier!

By Kathyrn Laughlin (Kathyl) on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 - 03:54 pm:

Hi
Based on D.A.'s image, it doesn't look like there was much going on in the norhern lower penninsula as of September 30. My family is trying to decide if we want to come up to the norther lower for color tour this coming weekend. Does anybody have any on-the-ground info for Grayling, Gaylord, Cheboygan, the straits area?

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 - 04:29 pm:

Kathyrn...I passed through the Grayling / Gaylord area on I-75, last weekend on the way to the upper and the area was looking very good. I imagine it will look nice this weekend if the wind and rain stays away.
Check out this website for a report:

Alex, thanks for the info and the website.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 - 06:56 am:

FYI, the Detroit Free Press had an article a couple of days ago that said that the color is running about a week ahead of schedule, all over Michigan, including even the Bay City area.
