Bryant Weathers was recently out paddling his canoe in Baraga County, at Craig Lake State Park. The scenery starts out with this calm reflection shot, which doubles your cloud viewing pleasure.

Bryant said the next photo was taken after what he calls, the monsoon, where in just two hours, over an inch and a half of rain fell down. Made for a nice blanket of haze, adding a hint of mysteriousness to the photo.

The last shot Bryant snapped, was on the west branch of the Peshekee River, that flows within the borders of the park. I like the way the lily pads surround the old tree stump in the middle of this quiet scene.

This sure is a beautiful area, accessible only by foot or by paddle. Looks like a great place to wet a line and catch "the big one" or even just a beautiful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Looks to have been a worth while day full of peace and quiet! Nice pictures!

Good morning, everyone! These are great pictures for a Monday, something calm and peaceful to start us on another hecta-week. Thanks for sharing!

I love your profile photo today, Janie. Your Scottish terriers are so cute! I like their ears.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, July 9, 2012 - 07:32 am:

Thanks Lisa! Brody, on the left, his ears are suppose to look like Brimley's. The groomer keeps giving him "swiffer" ears when groomed.

Very nice!

I'm sure that Bryant spent a very peaceful day that day. We all could use a little more of those. Thanks for sharing!

Craig Lake State Park is one of the best kept secrets in the UP. You have to go there to know why.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Monday, July 9, 2012 - 08:55 am:

I remember going to Craig Lake as a kid on some great fishing trips. Haven't been there in 30 or so years but after seeing these photos, a visit may be in order....

Lovely photos. We have so many very private and peaceful places to relax here in the U.P.

By Cindy, New Baltimore, MI (Cindy) on Monday, July 9, 2012 - 11:23 am:

Donald, I was going to say the same thing. We can't tell too many people or it won't be a best kept secret anymore. So, I hope everyone agrees that what you say on Pasty.com, stays on Pasty.com.

Beautiful photos Bryant thanks. How I wish I could follow you cruising thru the peace and quiet! You have no idea how someone like me enjoys your shared beauty and views. Made it my background for a while, a treasure.

Beautiful shots! I half expect the Hamm's bear to come floating along on his log in that top one!

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Monday, July 9, 2012 - 02:22 pm:

Nice Photos

Scenic pictures.

Now that's what I call a great picture--no kids to distract from the beautiful scene.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Monday, July 9, 2012 - 04:35 pm:

...and no adults either. :-)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, July 9, 2012 - 05:35 pm:

Now that's what life should be like! Peace, beauty and quiet!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, July 9, 2012 - 06:16 pm:
