When you live at the tip of the Keweenaw, like Steve Brimm does, you are privy to the most beautiful sunsets around, not to mention moonrises, too. Steve was UP late, UP North in Copper Harbor recently and while looking to the east at 10:42:44 p.m., he snapped the shot of the moon rising. Just about as soon as his shutter recovered from that photo, he turned around, facing west and snapped the sunset shot at 10:44:29 p.m., so these two very different skyline scenes were snapped within a little over a minute apart. Now if that isn't the perfect way to end any day, I don't know what is. Looks to me like Steve sure knows how to live. :->

A speech is like a wheel--the longer the spoke, the greater the tire..
Weekend, a break from the political palaver is due!

I like that, Gormfrog!
Good morning everyone.

Buenos nachos!
While Mona Lisas and mad hatters,
sons of bankers, sons of lawyers,
turn around and say, "good morning" to the night.
"Elton John"

It is truely amazing that one can have that much light still at 10:44 p.m., and it's not even the longest day of the year yet. I'm hoping to be able to catch a sight rarely seen by most folks as well later next month, the midnight sun when the Dr. and I are at NordCapp in northern Norway in a few weeks; Should be exciting....

Beautiful sights to behold! Thanks Steve and Mary.

Beautiful Shots! Really do cherish these late, long
Northern sunsets. Looks like
Steve is standing just east of the King Copper,
perhaps near the little 3rd Street
landing. Love that blurred twilight reflection of
Porter's.
