Now that's an "early bird!" And a sight for sore

Speaking of birds, I can't wait until the bird feeder is put back up on the Copper Harbor web cam. I wonder if that bear will check it out again. Is that photo archived somewhere?

Troll w/connections,

Are you referring to Sharon's webcam?

http://www.aviewfromthefield.com/livecam.html

If so, I'm sure you can always email Sharon for an archived pic.

Having had our bird feeders "nailed" by bear last year, we've already begun to bring them in at night.

Last year it was in mid-April, but it's been so warm this past week that the standing snow gauge has dropped from 2'4", down to 1'5". Our first returning doves and junco's have shown up.

Great blast from the past!

Also great to see the article on Taka again. I loved his photography.

He is still maintaining his site at CUTonion.com, but currently only has time to update it weekly.

Is that a baby bear Sharon?

By sur5er on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 - 01:29 pm:

Thanks Sharon :)

I have been reading your journals since this weekend in between doing my spring cleaning (ha ha...more reading than cleaning). Anywho, I am up to your August 2002 postings and your journal entry about the bear having helped themselves to the birdfeed. Great journal by the way...wish you would publish it...dat way I can take it down to the lake and read while I am sunning myself.

To Troll with connections,

If you use the link sur5fer posted for Sharon Smith's "a view from the field" website, she has some photo links of the bear in her July 9th, 2004 jounal. In the journal section, click "previous months" at the top of the page, select year and month you want and scroll down to the day. She actually has a LOT of neat photos in her journals.

Steve,

I agree about Sharon's photography. Between her pics and her journals, you are right there in da UP ;)

By troll with connections, Mi on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 - 07:12 pm:

Thanks Sur5er and Steve in Iowa. I wasn't sure where I could find those photos.
