I'm working too...just getting done pulling an all nighter on a case, and then I am headed off to dream land. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Thank you, Yooper! :)
There's two things I'd like to ask out of sheer curiosity, hoping no one minds. First, sur5er: You seem to work nights frequently, always doing paperwork. Is this some kind of graveyard shift, or do you just prefer to work at night?
And second: How many registered users are there by now? Cant help thinking we're getting more and more ...

Danbury,
To answer your second question, as of today, there are 977 registered Cammies! Wonder who the 1000th Cammie to register will be? :->

Hey Uncle Chuck, Yooz guys at Da Camp yet?

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Saturday, November 12, 2005 - 03:30 pm:

Danbury,
When I was a single parent, I devoted my days to raising my daughter, and thus studied and worked during the night. Years later...and with my daughter now grown and on her own, I still find that it is easier for me to stick to this pattern of working on cases, at night. Besides, it's so much more quiet and there are less distractions, during the wee hours of the night/ morning.

With the beautiful weather we are having today, everyone seems to be out doing yardwork, shopping at bazaar's, just plain shopping etc. Today our son is putting the trusses up on his new house. Many of his friends are helping with this big project!!!

Next week is snow----predicted for every day.

Wow! I just got my copy of the Nov. 2005 newsletter of the
Delta Co. Historical Society. There is an article in there lifted
from an upcoming book by the weatherman on WLUC-TV in
Marquette, Karl Bohnak. The book is on weather history in the
U.P., and the excerpt I read dealt with a giant storm which swept
over the Midwest on Nov. ll, 1940 killing 100-200 people. He
discusses a fellow from Esky, Dale Vinette, and his adventures as
a diver and as a crewmwmber on a Straits ferry during that
storm. If I were in the U.P., I would be looking for Bohnak's
book. What a nice Xmas present that would be, don't you think?
(And to think I knew nothing of Dale's adventures when I worked
for him one summer back in the late 1950s. Imagine the hours I
could have gotten out of work if I could have got him going on
these sea-tales.)

Sur5ver,just wondering,are you a lawyer?

By Danbury (Danbury) on Sunday, November 13, 2005 - 04:21 am:

Thank you, Mary. That's quite a little more than I'd thought.
Quite a compliment for your work.

You're tough, sur5er - days for the daughter, nights to the work - sounds to me like a maior case of sleep deprived ... :)

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Sunday, November 13, 2005 - 05:54 am:

Danbury,
Years ago, when my daughter was young, I was on the phone with Judge Patricia Costello, from the Monroe County District Court. As I talked on the phone, the judge could hear my daughter talking in the background, to which she remarked, "parenting is both the hardest job, and the most important job. You will never do anything more important in life, than raise your child." Wow!
This incredible woman was widowed when she was quite young...and with six young children to raise and support on her own. She put herself through law school...became an attorney...and then became a successful judge...and all the time, her number one job was being a 'mommy'. ;)
We women are pretty incredible, eh.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Sunday, November 13, 2005 - 10:33 am:

Hey Dashamo, we made er to camp eh! Grampa Norm, Chef Doug, Mike, Marty, and me. Nephew Ben, and uncle Charlie arrive today (Sunday). Went 4 wheelin down trail 133 from Gay to Lac La Belle yesterday in Marty's and Mike's Xterra and Explorer. We're set up with winch's, tow straps, beef jerkey, and H2o. Had to get a little mud on the tires ya know. Doug made a big pork roast last night with all the fixin's, (we're livin rough). More 4 wheelin today, and some BAD football on the dish today, stay tuned.

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Sunday, November 13, 2005 - 11:57 am:

Boy am I confused. Had a bad sleep-deprived night. Now I can't find the Sunday picture for the pasty-net. Maybe someone else had a bad night too. As strong as the wind is down here, would love to be on a beach by you guys! Wow what a wind you must be having. Good morning everyone. Stay anchored and snuggled in where ever you are.

Where is everybody THIS morning (Sunday, 11/13)?

Finnish music was featured on "Sound and Spirit" this morning on NPR. I think you might be able to hear part of it by going to www.wgbh/pri/spirit. I tho't of many of you when I heard it.

Webmaster is having some technical difficulty

By Erica - Florida Keys (Erica) on Sunday, November 13, 2005 - 01:00 pm:

Hope nothing serious is wrong ..It doesn't seem like Sunday 'til you tell me it is!

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Sunday, November 13, 2005 - 02:47 pm:

Ok Uncle Chuck, so how exactly did you make that roast? Did you wrap it in foil and throw it on the Explorer's engine to cook, as you went 4 wheeling?
