Mornin!

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 07:24 am:

Good morning from Mishawaka, IN. We are getting some much needed rain this morning. My bike ride to school will be a damp but I'm happy for the rain. My yard is brown and the plants wilt every day. Have a great day everyone.

By jmac (Jillann) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 07:35 am:

Good Morning,
Western Illinois got the rain overnight- it was more lightning than we had had for many months. The cool weather that is here today is a welcome relief for school. Have a great day!

By Cindy Lee Maki (Cindylee) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 08:07 am:

Good Morning Sur5er, Margaret and all My Pasty friends. Can I tell you a secret.... Today is my birthday!!!! 45 years old and holding. Son Jake said to me " Mom, your getting old ". I guess when your 13 it does seem old. What a kid, out of the mouth of Babe's... Have a great day all, I know I will. P.S. Margaret, the flower I picked for you is fully open this morning, must be a sign your feeling way better.

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 09:25 am:

Thanks for telling us, Cindy! If you're old, then I'm really old (53)! It would be cool to know everyone's birthday on here. I hate it when wives complain their husband doesn't remember their b'day. I make mine known loud and clear! I'm a firm believer in celebrating birthday months. Anything I buy myself in November is for my birthday!

One of my early elementary students last year guessed my age to be in the thirties. (I love my students!) He said, "If you were in your forties, you'd be old; and if you were in your fifties you'd be REALLY old!" How's that for an instant letdown!

Happy birthday, Cindy!

Good morning everyone :) I slept with the windows open last night...to the sounds of the thunder storm we had last night.
Happy Birthday Cindylee :) Enjoy your day...and celebrate life! ;)

Marsha, I am having a bonding moment here...we are so much alike. I set the entire month of July aside for my birthday...and whenever I go shopping in July, I tell my hubby, "Oh, I got that for for my birthday."
I also give my hubby hints, by marking his calendar: "X amount of shopping days left until Sur5er's birthday."

By Fran in GA (Francesinga) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 10:24 am:

Happy Birthday Cindy! We are nearly birthday twins. Mine is the 18th. I am the granny here I guess, at 66. That's o.k. tho, I still feel fairly young in my mind!:) Stay busy as a bee too.

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 11:17 am:

Sorry Fran, I'm 67 and 3/4th. But inspite of my physical shape, I'm mentally young. My birthday is 2 weeks after Christmas so everyone's worn out for giving. My next birthday I'm celebrating with a trip to nearest "Red Lobster" and maybe even a boughten birthday cake. :O Happy Birthday Cindy !

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 11:22 am:

Jeeze Cindy Lee I just realised my oldest is 46 so I could be your mom!! Enjoy the day anyways. When I got married (age 19) one of my sisters-in-law was acient at 26 :> It's a beautiful day for Cindy's birthday....

By Cindy Lee Maki (Cindylee) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 12:09 pm:

Maija,
Check out Marsha Galbraith's photo album...her last picture is of a pizza from Ambasador...no joke. I am so hungry now.

Miss Katie, Are you our mommy?

By Chuck K (Chuckclarkston) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 05:33 pm:

Can anyone tell me where Electric Park was? I know it was between Hancock and Calumet. Was it by Boston or further north?

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 05:48 pm:

Marsha,

That's it. I want a pizza. And a pasty . In fact, I
just want to be back in the UP.

Today I gave each student in my class a
Michigan pencil that has a small map of
Michigan on it. Now they will always know
where the UP is. This wasn't just idle
propaganda. We were writing poems about
where we were from.. I managed to slip
juustoa, Lake Superior and thimbleberry jam
into mine!

Happy birthday, Cindylee!

By jmac (Jillann) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 06:39 pm:

I want to wish Cindy a Happy Birthday too! I always respond to people telling me that I am Old that I am proud to be my age as I am not ready for the alternative to not being here to celebrate my birthday - I am 53 and proud of it!

By RCW (Rcw) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 06:56 pm:

Chuck K. You were pretty close naming Boston. Actually it was a bit north behind Hiway Location

By Grace M Wetton (Gmw) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 06:58 pm:

Cindy Lee-Happy Birthday to you and many, many more. 45, huh? Well I'm only a few years ahead of you. Are we what they call over the hill (over 40 group)? Oh well, have a great day of what's left of it!!!

By Danbury (Danbury) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 07:02 pm:

Happy birthday from far away, Cindy Lee!

Since Dr.Nat/Capt.Paul haven't checked in here today, guess that makes me the "baby" here with a mere 32.

By It's Me (Yooper) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 07:51 pm:

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 08:37 pm:

Oh Great, Yoopers back. Now all we have to do is find Dave of Laurium.

Hi Sur5er...I share a July Birthday with you. How about being 13 on Friday the 13th. :)

Danbury: I didn't know that babies start at 32. You must have been a big baby. :D

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 08:42 pm:

I'm sorry...I forgot. Happy Birthday Cindy all the way from California.

By Downstatedon (Downstatedon) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 09:32 pm:

Yooper...Great to have you back. The picture tells
a great story! Major confusion!

By Carole (Carole) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 09:34 pm:

Isn't Yooper and Dave of Laurium the same person? At least I thought so.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 09:38 pm:

Happy Birthday, Cindy. Enjoy every day you have.

Since I nearly died from salmonella when I was 38 I am thankful for every birthday. Luckily I've had 24 more since that fight with salmonella.

By Ms. Katie (Mskatie) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 09:45 pm:

Yes Carole, I too wondered if Dave of Laurium morphed into Yooper, or (whisper) he had a sex change :> To all you youngsters, I could find room in my life for a few more kids. Maybe Fran and I could share half and half LOL?

By Fran in GA (Francesinga) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 10:50 pm:

Yes,Ms Katie,I seem to have a knack for "adopting" young people. My family has greatly increased in size and I love it. My husband and I had 2 kids and with my "other" 2 and their families It is a great bunch:)

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 11:46 pm:

Well der you are Yooper :) Where you been? Welcome back, eh.

Beverly, 13 on Friday the 13th...that would be your luck, eh. My brother and law and his wife celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on September 11th.

Cindylee...does this mean that Fran and Ms Katie have joint custody of us? We'll be their 'problem children'. ;)

By Brock Waugh (Brock) on Thursday, September 15, 2005 - 05:44 am:
