Again this year Pasty.NET will bring live coverage of High School sporting events, beginning with football, Lake Linden vs. Baraga on August 26. That's only a week from this Friday! The proud tradition of U.P. Football continues :0)

By the way, if you know of any U.P. radio station which carries live play-by-play of your favorite team, call them to request Streaming Audio of the games on Pasty.NET. They can contact us toll-free to make the arrangements, 1-800-327-0966.

Love the picture-- but makes you wonder just how good Escanaba really was that year. Also I feel compassion for the team when they finished the season with a loss after allowing only 8 pts all season

Paul Roberts sent me an email this morning that he had uploaded some pictures of the "Rice Lake Remains" in his gallery. For anyone interested, here's a link to a slideshow of the pics. Thanks, Paul!

Mary - How much land was burned? How long did it take to put the fire out?

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 - 09:24 am:

Paul, Thanks for the pics. The firefighters really had their work cut out for them, didn't they? Just amazing that they were able to contain the fire with the entire area so dry. Hats off to the Keweenaw fire departments.

NKR,

389 acres burned. It took almost three days before the fire was completely out. No causalties (property or otherwise).

Talked w/Calumet family: White House prime rib on Saturday evening passed the late 70+(agers) relatives and friends with flying colors. Glad the restaurant is up and running. Mom says the Queen cut was more than enough so part went home for Sunday supper.
