Do you think I can plant my flowers outside yet? Some say it's to soon some say wait till after Fathers Day, others say wait until after the the full moon which is Sunday! What do you think? I don't know when to plant. Any advise?

By Knitter on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 01:34 pm:

Isn't Memorial Day week-end the traditional planting time in the CC?

By Joe Finn, Rhinelander, Wi on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 02:06 pm:

For the real gardeners there is no such thing as a date to plant. I planted $200 worth of flowers and tomato plants Memorial Day, and we had a late frost first week in June. Killed everything. Go by the weather forcast.

By gmw on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 03:33 pm:

I did my flower tubs today. 77 degrees out, seems
okay to plant flowers now, but watch the forecast for nighttime. You may want to cover flowers with plastic or something. I always plant the week before Memorial Day, never had any problem before.

By Cindy from Cenntenial Heights on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 07:01 pm:

Well hubby and I planted my flower garden today. Hopefully we won't have frost. Thanks gmw, I will keep a eye on the weather. I will cover them a night need be. To me, my flowers mean everything. To plant something and watch it grow is truely amazing. The colors and detail of flowers are soooo pretty. I am not an expert on gardening, but I am learning. It is so calming for me to garden. It gives me such joy to show hubby,"look honey, come see what is opening." He gives me that loving smile and say's,"isn't that pretty." I'M sure he is thinking,-what ever makes her happy, I am too!!! Hubby has to dig for me because I don't like worms. There so wiggly. I guess that's what I have is true LOVE. So heres to you my love, thanks for helping me plant my flowers. It's the little things you do for me that makes me love you so much. I'm sure you would rather be fixing Jake's dirtbike or your truck. You can watch the Nascar all star race tonight. And I'll even hope that your driver Jeff Gordon wins. But I still like my Dale Jr. Love your flower wife' Cindy

By gmw on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 08:06 pm:

Cindy-husband is a NASCAR fan! Great to hear.
We are doing just the same. Glued to the TV set tonight for the All-Star NASCAR race.

By gmw on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 08:08 pm:

Cindy-whoops, forgot to include you too as a NASCAR fan, sorry!

By Ms. Katie on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 09:05 pm:

Good thing there are so many people like you folks and a couple of my sons who love NASCAR etc. Myself, watching cars run around in circles looks like as much fun as watching little white balls get hit into a cup in the ground :> ( Oh-oh am I gonna hear from you guys :O )Have a nice weekend.

By Dave--Centennial Heights on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 09:10 pm:

gmw, Sounds like were both doing the same thing. Anyways, who's your favorite driver? If you don't mind me asking. Millon bucks, may the best driver win!!! Wife still has her favorite, the garden is planted. Could she going back on her word earlier??? Laughing she looked at me and smiled and said,"you didn't say for how long." And then she told me that Gordon always was her second best driver. That flower woman of mine. How can you not just love her. Just when and bought her some more fowers. Oh my gosh, gotta plant more now. Come on race start already!It's9:06 p.m; Looks like I'll be up early on my one and only day to sleep in. Yes Cindy I will plant more flowers in the morning. Just don't be yapping to me about flowers during the race. It's on must go watch!!!!
