Mornin'! Yesterday I saw a Michigan license plate that said: Michigan, The Professional Choice. What's with that? Professional what?

If you're stumped as to what to get Mom for Mother's Day this year, why not take her to the Sixth annual Lake Linden-Hubbell Lions Club Dinner. It will take place on May 8th, at the Harbor Haus in Copper Harbor, MI, featuring a five course meal with the usual flair of the Harbor Haus. Tickets or more information can be obtained by contacting Mary Drew either by email: mdrew@pasty.com or by phone: (906) 296-0367. Let Ron and Chris Waara's expertise and hospitality, help you show Mom how special she really is!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to all the hard-working, deserving 'secretaries'!

By I'm another one! on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 08:59 am:

To "I'm one myself" - thank you & you have a Happy Administrative Professionals Day, too

By Yet another one on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 09:10 am:

Well, I used to be one. Have a happy one all of you.

By Liz, Idaho on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 10:32 am:

I was one, too. So today I brought in home grown tulips with sprigs of forsethia for my "not administrative professions staff." They are the mini managers of their own sections of the office. And, they need to be honored, too!

Help! I received a "returned mail" message at 11:29 A.M. today, saying that a message I supposedly had sent to a humanities @ mtu.edu was being returned to me because of permanent fatal errors! I never mailed this message, I was not aware of the "mtu" address before. This has happened previously a couple of times in the past year. Not the same address but concerning a fatal error. There are many savy people on this site. Does anyone have any suggestions? I always delete the messages I get. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Folks, please pray for "Fran from GA", as her husband took a fall the other day, and is now moments from death. Fran posts alot here and I know that so many of you know her.

By maijaMI on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 12:45 pm:

Oh, my goodness! Fran probably won't be able to see this, but I am sending her all good thoughts and hopes.

Fran...our prayers are with you

By maijaMI on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 01:52 pm:

Paul, Webberville Troll,
It's a virus. Good idea to not open 'returned mail' messages unless you have just sent something and could have typed wrong. Run your anti-virus software.

By Steve in Iowa on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 02:15 pm:

To Paul, Webberville Troll
I have received similar "returned mail" from places I had not sent anything to. I take it to mean that someone I have had contact with who has both my address and the recipient's address in their address book has been compromised by a virus or worm which is now generating malicious emails using the spoofed addresses. Never open any such "returned mail" you didn't send as it may contain malicious code. Simply delete it. I am not aware of anything that you can do to stop it, since you don't know whose computer generated it. Unless your circle of friends is very small your address could be in dozens of address books. It is very important to keep your own anti-virus software up to date. You may get several more of these with the same message over the next few weeks since the person whose computer has been compromised probably doesn't know it and their computer will continue to send these emails until they figure it out.

By Dave, Temecula, CA on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 02:41 pm:

Paul W. Troll,

Could be a virus, but most likely just some hacker/spammer spoofing your email address. Just delete the message.

One of the ways to get people to open an email is to send it so it *appears* to come from an address that looks familiar, or, at least, legit. The fake addresses can be made up, copied from address books on infected machines or pulled from web pages where email addresses may be posted. Sites that bounce mail that can't be delivered will send it to the addresss (yours) that it appeared to come from.

As Maija said, don't open it and make sure your antivirus and malware software is up to date and you should be fine.

Fran, GA,

I am praying too. God will keep you in His perfect peace.

By sur5er on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 05:10 pm:

You know, we had that problem here on Pasty Cam earlier this year, with spoof email. It seems that the hackers love to hit the message boards. Sigh. In an obvious effort to redirect traffic intended for leading I.S.P "PASTY.NET", Baraga Telephone has improperly registered the domain URL: pastynet.com or whatever to the email address.

Hello to My Pasty Family.I want to thank all of your for your kind words, prayers and thoughts during this terrible time.My husband is still alive but it is only his body in the hospital bed. We feel like he is already with God but his body just has not caught up. He is not in pain and they are just keeping him comfortable per our wishes as there is no chance of recovery. Continue to keep us in your prayers as this will be a dificult transition time for me and my family. My friends and neighbors have been a great help to me.Bless all of you. Alex will keep you filed in. Good night all. Love,Fran

And Alex, thank you again for letting everyone know.
