Good morning!! Nice variety of pictures this morning. But can anybody tell me where Spectacle Lake is? I don't think I've ever heard of this one.

Thanks and have a great day!!

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 07:59 am:

Good morning Deb ~

Spectacle Lake is over by the Point Iroquois lighthouse; not far from Brimley

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 08:03 am:

Should mention that the lake is viewable from Mission Hill Cemetery, on West Tower Road

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 08:18 am:

Don't you know, Deb? It's where people go to make spectacles of themselves!!
Sounds like a great place for..... nevermind. J

Talking about space, is everyone ready for asteroid 2005 YU55? I made my aluminum-foil hat last night...just in case.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 08:38 am:

It won't work Alex unless you have your mirror shades and lead-lined skivvies on as well, or is that for aliens; I get the two mixed up....

Always wondered what the name of the lake is that you see from Mission Hill Cemetery. Now I know. What a view from up there.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 09:03 am:

Good Morning. I love the buoy tending photo of the Eagle Harbor Light! That's one of my favorite lighthouses, anyway. And, you don't think the birds know which boat has a load of fish, do you?

The asteroid is supposed to pass close to the Earth between 6:30 and 7:00 pm EST, but it is not all that close. It is not all that small, as it has been described as the size of an aircraft carrier. If you're worried about it, then y'all might want to don some of the get-ups mentioned by Alex and Capt Paul, LOL! Thanks for giving me a good smile to start the day, guys!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 09:19 am:

You're right, Marianne, these 2 fellas (Alex & Capt. Paul) are great punsters!:D Omigosh, I hadn't heard about the 'air-craft carrier-sized thingamabob' up in the sky! I guess that comes from not having TV.....threw that thing out about 7yrs ago!

4 DAYS NOT COUNTING TODAY!

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 02:57 pm:

Great photos!

By Hollidays (Hollybranches) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 03:17 pm:

Uncle Chuck; Hope you bag that buck!

Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow along with big winds. The gales of November are upon us. November 10th, 1975 was a brutal way of showing how much force those gales had.

Enjoying one of the last sunny, mild days.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 03:34 pm:

Speaking of weather, Hollidays, I just took a look at the Duluth canal webcam and there's not a single gull in the air...they're perched along the far wall and/or sitting on the lights. Funny thing, the waters look peacefully calm. Maybe they know somethin' we don't.:>

By Hollidays (Hollybranches) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 04:08 pm:

Happy Birthday to Uncle Chuck's Aunt Eva!

Captain Paul, you need to get on a stage, the next one leaves in 5 minutes. :)

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 07:20 pm:

But hollidays; All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players....

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - 09:41 pm:
