What's the name of the St. Ignace landmark that appears in today's 14 year review?

Question: I've seen a couple of raccoons around here that are really dark in their coloring. (Of course, in the night...no camera)...and I've tried looking around, but didn't see anything about the color changing w/the seasons....Anyone have any clues? Thank you!

I'm not sure about in the spring, but in the fall I always heard it say the darker the deer and raccoon coats, the harsher the winter. Maybe they are still sporting their winter coats yet?

Ahhh....thanks Janie T...I've not heard that one before. I know the deer do change color in the winter...but I've not seen this color on a raccoon before....THANK YOU!

Donna, your question about dark coats on raccoons is timely, as Sunday we found a dead raccoon in our field that was really dark. Have no clue what happened to it, showed zero signs of being hit by a car, shot at, diseased, maybe just old age. Hubby buried it, and he said the raccoon had to weigh 25 lbs. or better. We do have coyotes, would a coyote kill it and just leave it?
