The weather has been great for getting outdoors so far this winter and if you're looking for something to do, take a cue from Amy Cloutier and company. They headed out in the woods to do some snowshoeing and even took her four-legged friend, Carly along. It's definitely a great way to get some exercise in the winter and you're guaranteed to find some peace and quiet in the snow covered woods. You may even be serenaded by some song birds along the way.

The simple pleasures in life are the best!

Wanted to get my honey snowshoes for Christmas cuz he's always wanted to try it, but he decided he'd rather have a fish house. Whatever. Looks like fun!!

Now that looks like fun, sharing 'warm' time with friends on a cold day! But it looks as though Carly is 'living on the edge'...."don't slip, doggie!". ;>

The Pepsi Refresh voting has not gone well. We are still stuck at #18. We need a big push here at the month's end. Please go to the Pepsi Refresh website and vote for the new roof project for the Calumet Theatre.

Come on Pasty Peeps....VOTE....move the Theatre on up!
http://www.refresheverything.com/saveabeautiful110yroldtheatre

The place is one fabulous old building. It's got history in it...like you wouldn't believe. Just think of the feet that have walked inside there, and the voices that have sang there. The acoustics are fabulous in that building. You get such a feeling of AWE when inside, and anything you see there is just outstanding. Let's all move them on up the ladder...and show them the POWER OF THE PASTY!!

LET'S VOTE!

By Barbara Mosley (Lunarchi) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 11:08 am:

The Theatre just got a vote from New Jersey! I love seeing the daily
pictures of the UP. I stumbled upon this site while looking for
information about Hancock for my mother-in-law, who was born
in Hancock in 1929 and spent part of her childhood in your area.
My husband and I are hoping to visit next summer. It looks
absolutely beautiful... regardless of the season!

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 11:29 am:

Very nice photos Amy.

By Carol Van Der Woude (Cvanderwoude) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 01:32 pm:

I voted in Illinois. The Theatre is a great historical building in
Calumet.

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 02:47 pm:

Donna, I voted for both, question: when voting do we have to vote at the top and at the bottom of the challenge to be counted? Maybe that's why we're not moving in the rankings?

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 03:50 pm:

Uncle Chuck: I see what you mean. I voted at both the top and
bottom. I was thanked for voting when I voted at the bottom.

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 03:59 pm:

Certainly looks like they're having fun.

By Rowdy (Roudymi) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 - 05:07 pm:

There's snow not to far away from me out here in Az today. Nothing like ours though, but they're having their dyfugalties with it. Guess I might as well go home tomorrow. PS Nice video Marsha.

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Friday, December 31, 2010 - 12:02 am:

Kosk, I hope others try what we're talking about.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Friday, December 31, 2010 - 03:29 pm:

Uncle Chuck: Just voted that way again--top and bottom and
received the thanks for voting message.
