In case you haven't noticed, the snow has arrived here in the Keweenaw and it looks like it's going to stick around for awhile. Bob Gilreath snapped these shots on the Michigan Tech campus, while the flakes were still wet and flying through the air. It sure makes for some pretty scenery when snow sticks and turns everything bright and clean looking again. Unfortunately, it also sticks to the roads and freezes as the temperatures drop, so if you're out shopping the after Thanksgiving sales, please drive carefully and watch out for the other drivers! Same for travelers that are "home for the holiday," remember to slow down and drive defensively. Happy Shopping everyone!

I love the way the snow settles on the tree branches.

Yep, even those of us in southern Ohio (Ohio Valley) received a snow covering last night/this morning. Had heavy rains for 2 days then that blew out and brought in the white stuff. Of course nothing like UP there! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Time to get those gloves and boots and hats ready!

As a viewer of these images for the last 5 years, I thought it was time to make a post. Being born in Larium and than living in Wakefield and now Nevada, I have enjoyed these images posted here. I can't say I miss the snow and the real cold weather, but is beautiful to see the first snow on bare branches. Thanks....

It's truly beautiful...but be safe! DRIVE WITH YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON AT ALL TIMES!

Especially in white out conditions.....the plow drivers have to have your help out there...and if they can't see you, and something happens, they ARE bigger, and they WILL win!

Enjoy, but be safe!
