Okay, still nothing! Well, it's a beautiful day here. We had tons of rain yesterday, so hot and humid will probably be the weather for today. We can't complain we're not getting summer this year.

Have a great Saturday everybody!

Been up since six, and forgot to check this site. Glad that Deb got the bird. Should be one for Ron also.

Hi again: Still wondering if anyone knows if the Ranger III is running since the Lift Bridge is having problems. Can anyone help me out? I'm in the far southern U.P. and no one here knows. Thanks!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Saturday, August 14, 2010 - 10:39 am:

Good Morning, All, on a rainy day here in Troll Land. Barbdayooper, on the Lift Bridge: they keep thinking they have fixed it, and then they run into problems again. The last I heard, a technician from Lansing was up and replaced an electrical relay in it, I think on Tuesday, or Wednesday this week. He thinks it is fixed now, and a number of spare relay replacements for various parts of the bridge have been ordered, as reported in the Daily Mining Gazette. It looked like the Ranger was out this week, from watching Mich Tech's Fund motion web cam. In fact, she is not in her berth as I write this now.

Tech and Houghton will be brimming with people this time next Saturday, which is moving day for incoming freshman. Many of their families will be exploring Copper Country then, so I really do hope it is fixed by then, and no further problems are encountered.

When we moved up here a few years ago, talking to a neighboring farmer, he was complaining: "I can still work as hard as I did fifty years ago...
But I don't get near as much done."
Truer words were never spoken, as you discover as the 'retirement' years pile up!

Thank you to Marianne Y and Yooperguide! I tried calling the Ranger office, but it is Saturday so they must be closed. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Great. I like the Copper City Post Office and the dew covered web, especially.
