In which year do we see a man in a robe?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - 07:48 am:

That would be 2006. More great pictures today!

Dean, hope all is fine and you're resting in comfort today!

By Yooperguide (Huntandfish) on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - 08:26 am:

Thinking about you too, Dean.

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - 09:16 am:

I'm very impressed when looking at Nancy Nelson's photo gallery. She has a marvelous artistic eye. As a collector of spider web photos I love her's. I so enjoy cruising pasty's photo gallery. BTW where is Pike Bay? Also blessings on Dean in his recuperation from surgery. Hope all goes well.

How's it coming along Dean? I hope that you’re up and about raising some heck.

Good pics. The Ontonagon pic, is that the M-26 bridge that was dismantled after the new 1 was built?

Thomas Baird (Thomas):
"… is that the M-26 bridge that was dismantled after the new 1 was built?

Maybe the M-64 bridge?

Click → MDOT: M-64/Ontonagon River.

And although I really did try, I just can't resist commenting on the MDOT writeup:

"Both fixed and swing spans were floored with asphalt-covered concrete, and both sides of the deck were lined with narrow sidewalks with MSHD standard, Moderne [sic] steel guardrails anchored by steel bulkheads. The bridge tender worked from a single-story structure over the upstream side of the pivot span's west end. The Ontongon Bridge extended 309 feet (wit [sic] a 110-foot pivot span) and has a 26-foot roadway. When swung, the bridge provideed [sic] a 30-foot channel for passing water craft."

English is a dying language! {sad-faced smiley}

Found an article today in our local paper and thought I would share it with you. This man had passed away On March 21st, this year. His wife wanted to post his private notes. She misses him dearly.
Thoughts
I wish I could own a home next to a clear, rock-strewn mountain stream. Wildflowers would grow all over the place and they would not be disturbed or picked, just photographed.
Cut-throat trout would bask in the sun because the water would be so cool and refreshing, the sun would have no effect on the water temperature.
All types of wildlife would abound because they would have no fear of being hurt. Birds would make nests in the houses' little nooks. Beavers would have made a little pool down the stream for swimming and bathing.
In the winter all I would do would be to snow-shoe through the woods, photographing nature's beauty. In the spring all I would do would be to sit and listen to a babbling brook. To me, I see the beauty of nature and gods creations to help us enjoy life more. Nature, for one purpose; to forget life's trials and to escape reality.

That is beautiful, Yooperguide. That is a true appreciation of the beauty of nature.

By Yooperguide (Huntandfish) on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - 05:25 pm:

Been livin' just like that Cindy. Life is good.

By Cindy Barga (Hoosiergirl) on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - 05:27 pm:

Can't wait to come UP in two weeks!!

By Yooperguide (Huntandfish) on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - 05:34 pm:

You won't want to go back home, Cinster!

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - 10:52 pm:

yooperguide...what a beautiful thought. It could even be my thoughts. But it would have to be some where in CC. My first thought was how it would have described Dan Urbanski and his photography. I still miss his presence on pasty. It must be a good 4 to 5 years next month I think.
