It has been an unusually warm March so far here in the U.P. Which year in the past 10 has the best evidence that it was also a warm March then?

I don't know how warm it was in 2000, but that sure is a pleasant sight to see...like, spring was on it's way.

Good morning all.

Currently 53 degrees in Mohawk in the shade, this is great. When I was younger I used to enjoy winter, but the older I get, the more I dislike the cold and snow. When I retire in a few yrs maybe it's time to start thinking about becoming a snow bird.

Wow some really great photos again Charlie. And Dave, that's my feelings too. Had a lot of fun times skating, sledding etc. as a kid. But now I tolerate winter just fine from the window better. Ageing does a number on one as we age. And being a snowbird is a reward for surviving winter driving to work, sliding along sidewalks etc. Happy retirement when it does come. But plan for it too.

Congrats to my NMU HOCKEY CATS! See you at the Joe this weekend!

With a couple of postings on temperatures, I did some research, and found temperature records 4 March 14th from Houghton County Airport, and reports the record high was 56 degrees in 1995, and the record low was -2 in 1956.

We were out in Mohawk 8:am and there was only one other person out there waiting for her volunteers to show up. She asked Bill if he would write down times for her but, her volunteers started to show up so we watched everything. It was fun.

So mickill...what was going on at Mohawk?

By Russell E. Emmons (Russemmons) on Monday, March 15, 2010 - 12:23 am:

Mskatie, DaveofMohawk, I couldn't agree more! Each winter gets tougher now. Can handle it to about the Holidays, then it's a struggle to March!

Sorry, that was where the sled dog race finished. They were suppose to finish in downtown Calumet but the weather said otherwise. The website is copperdog150.com Had fun out there.
