Name a motel in the Keweenaw referenced in today's decade review.

By Interested Visitor (Tangobravo) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 01:01 am:

I don't see a motel as such just two places that offer lodging: the Landmark Inn and the Shoreline Resort.

Landmark Inn! ---Oh yes I see the Shoreline Resort ad also!
Close Second
Technically speaking, the Landmark is a hotel, and the Shoreline is a motel

Do I get credit for being up at this hour?

By Donna (Donna) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 06:37 am:

Again...just wanna say...Mr. Harri..your photography is superb! Thank you for sharing!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 08:19 am:

Love the last 2 pictures! They're all nice, but the last 2 really grabbed me, especially the freighter.

Good morning! Have a wonderful day and hope you aren't freezing like we are!

By Richard J. (Dick_fl) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 08:19 am:

Technically speaking the Landmark Inn is in Marquette and not the Keweenaw. ;-)

By Richard J. (Dick_fl) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 08:27 am:

Charlie, you are into history, can you tell us why the steeples on First Methodist in Marquette are so different? I grew up in Marquette and have always wondered why they are so different. Thanks.

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 09:15 am:

As usual, wonderful. I like that double steepled church.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 09:16 am:

12:48 am; good grief, I was still up!! ;-)

Well I never thought I'd see a temperature like this in SE TX, but at 7:30 this morning it was 15 and everything looks dead outside. I guess the weathergirl wasn't lying about a killing freeze....

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 10:02 am:

Good Saturday Morning. It's 12 here in Lansing and the sun is shining on "all that snow" we got overnight on Thursday that closed all the schools around here on Friday. My daughter and her friends went sledding all day (we called it sleigh riding where I come from). Oh, well, since we really haven't had any snow up to now, I guess they can afford to use up a snow day. Enjoy the day and stay warm.

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 11:39 am:

We are up to 22 degrees here in Mohawk MI; a perfect day for outdoor winter sports enthusiasts.

By Richard Wieber (Dickingrayling) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 12:01 pm:

Since everyone is giving a weather report in their area, I will, too. Here in central Florida last night's temp was warmer than previously. It was 34. Has been as low as 27. A little girl, this morning, told me she had just made a snowman. When I asked her if it was 3 feet tall she said no, about 4 inches. Her dad said they had to scrape a big area to get that much snow (frost?). We are all cold but she was having a ball. Shows you what a difference age can make!

I was baptized in the First Methodist Church in MQT..many, many moons ago.

By Grace M Wetton (Gmw) on Saturday, January 9, 2010 - 03:35 pm:

Good afternoon everyone. 20 degrees, sunny here in Houghton. Haven't seen the sun in awhile.
Have a great day.
