The weather has been all over the place lately here UP North, from sunshine, to rain, then snow again. We've even had a few mornings that everything was all frosted like today's trio of photos from Robert C. Wetton, Steve Kaipio and Greta Jones, respectively. RCW captured those frosted Lombardy Poplar trees from somewhere up on the Quincy Hill. You can see the waters of the Portage Canal along with the borders of Houghton, through that heavy laden air, too. Just a little further north on US 41, Steve took the second shot of an old mining era smokestack as it rises out of the frosted trees in Boston Location. Completing this chilly trio, is Greta's snapshot showing off Jack Frost's handiwork on her window to the out of doors. You can just make out the tree trunks and the outline of the pines that border the forest through the frosted glass.

These pictures look COLD!!! It is still so cold here, but we've been promised a warm up by Sunday and then temps in the 20's next week. That'll feel almost balmy!!!

That last pic of the beautiful frost designs on the window remind
me of when, as children, we would put our mouths up close to the
glass and quickly blow on it.

When you do that it produces an interesting burst of a starlike
design that would keep us kids occupied when it was too cold to
play outside :) Give it a try...
