the 2000 picture today was done by my sister Eva, who unfortunately is no longer with us

I guessed Beethoven because today would have been his 239th birthday. Beethoven and I share the same birthday, but I'm a couple of years younger.

Happy birthday Cindy. Wasn't he a couple classes ahead of you in high school? (wink-wink)

JimH, beautiful work done by your sister, Eva! Looks like "Packo" is trying to catch his breath after sliding down that hill on the left....maybe he came down sideways?:)

I just saw nine groups(I'm not sure what they are called) of sandhill cranes flying south for the winter. Living here in Indiana surrounded by farmland, we don't get to see them the way you lucky yoopers do. I'm curious, when do they start their migration? It sure was an awesome sight to behold.

Cindy Barga, I don't know where in Indiana you live but they have been going through the Jasper Palaski Wildlife Area in northern IN since mid Oct. We drove to the site a few weeks ago and saw them landing for the night. What a sight to see. They are headed for southern Georgia.

Charlotte, I live in east central Indiana, about two miles from the Ohio border. About a half hour before sunset this evening, my husband an I saw four more large flocks headed south. I guess I just happened to be outside at the right time today. The sight and sounds were amazing!

Uncle Chuck...I'm sneaking up on 8 in cat years; no hurry though. And, yes, Kay, Beethoven was a couple years ahead of me in high school...really good on the piano if I remember correctly...such a long time ago.... Thank you for the birthday wishes. I've had a FABULOUS day. I just saw that new movie The Blind Side and it's awesome!!

Happy birthday Cindy. I reenact the time period that Beethoven lived in. I can only play the cannon, even tho I own a piano. Keep on dancing and enjoying life.
