As we commemorate the independence of our great country today, we celebrate in various ways. The most universally recognized symbol to show our patriotism is our country's red, white and blue. Thanks to Beth Collins, we have two flags to share, flying at two different Lighthouses in the U.P. The first one is at Whitefish Point over on the eastern end and the second one is waving in the winds at Eagle Harbor. Be sure to proudly fly your flag today and have a Happy 4th of July!

Wow! Up Nort' is warmer than Lansing today. We are at 66 right now. And to think I moved down south for warmer weather...it's nothing like the brochure...hrmph!

It's in the high 70's here and will hopefully warm up more so we can all enjoy the pool today.

Thomas Happy 4th to you, also. Our liberty and freedom will be eternal ONLY if we wake up and start letting D.C. know what WE want and demand they don't sell our country down the drain.

My wife and I were visiting the Cross in the Woods Shrine in
Indian River, today (July 18), and found this jigsaw puzzle in the
gift shop. On the box, it said to go to this website to find out what the hidden
messages were in the puzzle, and here's the web address to find
out, and wanted to share it with all the good folks of the
Keweenaw Peninsula:

then click on "If My People," + "Impressions of Old Glory."
