Let's try Pasty Fest 2009!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 08:16 am:

For anybody who listens to country music and Bob Kingsley's CT40 countdown, this weekend a letter I wrote them about our very own Laurel (llamamama) will be read on there. I was missing her terrible and put into words how "Sissy's Song" by Alan Jackson made me think so much about her. So, anybody who's interested, just listen to the countdown and there will be a dedication to her and the pasty site should be mentioned. Thanks!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 08:18 am:

Excellent photos!

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 11:00 am:

More fine scenes from the good ol' Keweenaw Peninsula, except the house fire is sad. I always feel bad 4 anyone whose house catches on fire. Hopefully, the owner rebuilt.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 12:32 pm:

Hopefully the owner had insurance.

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 01:45 pm:

Deb,that was so sweet of you to do that for Laurel. I'm not surprised that you did that because you are a very caring & giving person. She was lucky to have had you as her friend. Other Pasty people would attest to that fact too.

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 01:53 pm:

While I mentioned Pasty friends in that earlier post, my family just learned that my grandson Logan, 9 years old has a mild form of spina bifida. But the other problem he has is that he has a space between his skull & his spine in his neck. He apparently is missing the vertabrae C1. He needs a fusion to connect them & will have surgery sometime next month. He's being a real trooper about all of this. He's had to give up his baseball & some other activities but was told he will be able to play after surgery.(Except for football) Right now the Drs want to concentrate on his neck & spine. I'm asking all of my Pasty friends to please add him to your thoughts & prayers. Thank you.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 02:41 pm:

Lots of prayers and courage for Logan! Hang in there Buddy, you'll be out playing ball before your know it.

And I second that emotion for Deb S. She is really cool!

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 03:56 pm:

Cheryl you know we're praying for your Logan, everyone! The many prayers sent by the great people of Pasty Cam have been so effective this last year or more. I think the Good Lord has special affection for us all. Think good thoughts to help you through these rough times.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 06:20 pm:

Thank you Cheryl & Cindy.

Cheryl, please let us know as soon as you know anything about Logan.

By Pennie (Trolldiva) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 07:54 pm:

Cheryl I hope all goes well for Logan. Thoughts are with him and your family.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 08:09 pm:

Deb, Laurel was a special lady. I miss her a lot. She always could raise my spirits, much like you and Ron do. Thanks for being my friend. Cheryl, my pal Fr. Bill is praying for Logan as is the rest of the family. Both of my daughters are suffering from autoimmune diseases. Precious broke her c1 vertabrae in the accident two years ago, and then this winter broke her leg. Osteo is a nasty problem to have. She is just trying to please me.She knew I liked short girls so she has shrunk seven inches. Now if that isn't love what is?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 09:11 pm:

LOL at Precious trying to please you, Mikie.

I love being your friend. You raise our spirits also. This whole site can do that for you too. I've met wonderful people here.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 11:39 pm:

Are you sure Precious shrunk 7 inches, or you grew 7, Mikie?? ;-)

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 11:58 pm:

Thought that Justin was growing. Found out I have shrunk from 5'11" to about 5'9". He has not grown two inches. My perception has changed. Jimmie the fat white cat is doing well. He comes whenever I whistle. Unfortunatly I like to whistle to myself and he is always following me. Oh the inhuman problems I have. Sure wish there were more pictures of the Bluff on here.

By Betty Paull Colborn,AZ (Betty) on Sunday, June 28, 2009 - 02:51 am:

Cheryl, I am adding Logan to my prayer list. We will be in much prayer for him.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Sunday, June 28, 2009 - 07:20 pm:

I am glad that offensive posting was removed.

We just got back from a quick turn around trip to the UP. We
brought my dad home to the UP on Saturday, and returned to
Toronto yesterday evening. He was plenty excited to be back with
family members and friends. He was already out scouting his
blueberry patches and checking on the fire damage on County Rd.
581. We can't wait to join him in July.

My prayers go out for Logan and his family.

Well, we just got home a couple hours ago. We had FANTASTIC WEATHER. Everything we wanted to do, we did it between the rainfalls. ;O). We made it to pasty fest and got a t-shirt before we left town. Had a nice time. Had a nice time. Now it is time to unpack.
