Is Charlies' daughter in the first picture of hockey girls of Calumet? I am pretty sure she is. Let us know Charlie.

Thank you all for your kinds words. It's good to know that we are not alone in our sadness. Kosk...it is a small world isn't it? When did you go to school in Mass? My mom, Donna Koivu, graduated in 1952 from Mass High School. The high school was gone in Mass City by the time I was old enough and we were bussed to Ontonagon. Our gym teachers in elementery school (and high school) were Miss Phillips and Miss Chamberlain.

Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy,
Bit late to agree with your distress about our Cats loss to ND, but it is distress none the less. Worked the weekend and was on a conference call with a rabid ND fan - you can imagine how that discussion went.

The problem is now all these major college powers, who are late comers to real hockey, have more name recognition and $$$ to lure away some of the UP talent - even our coach!

Cindy,Question for you.I seen the mention of Donna Koivu. Is this relation to Becky Koivu?

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Monday, March 23, 2009 - 10:01 am:

JBUCK- I do think we would have fared better facing Alaska/Michigan first, ND is very powerful this year that's why they are ranked so high. I like our coach, he did beat Comely to get to the Joe. It is time for the 3 Hockey Colleges in the U.P. to have their turn though, perhaps next year. GO WILDCATS!

I just happened across a reference to Quantcast, a site that tracks Internet traffic. See the interesting statistics they have gathered about pasty.com. (Click on the various tabs on that site for more.)

Cindy: I went to elementary school in Detroit. Miss Kidd was
teaching at Gabriel Richard School in the 50s and early 60s. She,
like my parents, had left the UP to look for work in the LP after
WWII. Miss Kidd was from Mass City, my parents from L'Anse and
Baltic, and I was born in Marquette.
