E. Neil Harri was up over the top of Brockway mountain in Copper Harbor recently and snapped a shot of the trail Groomer taking a break. In the first shot you can barely see the Groomer sitting atop that rocky hill. But, zooming in with the second photo, you can see that "blue keeper of the trails" pretty well, along with the two snowmobilers and their machines. So, this picture has captured three of the ways you can motor to the top of the mountain, during the winter months, to take in the Superior View!

If these aerial shots leave you wanting more, click on over to Neil's website at: NeilHarriPhotos.com, where you'll find a variety of Aerial DVD Tours, from wintry shots around the U.P., to beautiful fall tours, too. Something new to check out while on Neil's webpage, is the Spring Photo CD special. You can place your order for aerial photos of your home, cottage or property in the counties he has listed there. Another unique gift idea from Neil's high resolution camera.

Such an incedible view.

I was up on the mountain on one winter nite. Full Moon, quiet weather, just phenomenal. What beauty....Just breathtaking beauty. WOW....

GREAT pics...as usual. I don't think Mr. Harri takes a bad one!

Wow, I've never seen Brockway from that side before. How cool!

I wonder when Neil's picture was taken, there is a lot of open water over that hill?

Mary says: Neil's photo was taken this past Thursday, March 5th. My brother-in-law said he was up there last week and what looks like open water was actually blue ice and it really is/was frozen over. Kind of an optical illusion type thing.

Great pictures as usual. I had the luck to watch a coyote on patrol on the ice this morning - a bit too far out for a decent photo with my camera but fun to watch with my binoculars.

Richard -- yeah, the big lake is pretty close to Brockway when you're looking to the north. Very cool with the coyote! You're lucky to have that view.

Heven't been up there in the winter yet, but I will!

I have a question, stupid as it may be: Can anyone ride a 4 wheeler on the snowmobile trails too. or is that a no no during the winter? Just asking, thanks.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Monday, March 9, 2009 - 02:22 pm:

I should add, I don't mean a truck, but maybe a Polaris Quad?

By allen philley (Allen) on Monday, March 9, 2009 - 06:00 pm:

Uncle Chuck you should ask local officials to be sure. I have heard the question before but not sure of the outcome. Some snowmobile trails go where motorized vehicles are not allowed because the snow cover protects from errosion and plant damage. Quads can depending on the operator cause damage even with snow cover.
