Over the past 10 years on this day, four of our photo contributors had 2 pictures each. What are the names of these four?

Good morning! It's going to be in double digits here. WOW!!!

By Joanne Sherrick (Shedoesnails) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 10:05 am:

I wanted to share this story with my pasty-cam friends. My husband and I bought our home in 2006. It's a beautiful old home. built in late 1800's. When we purchased the home we were told that the original builder sold the home full of antiques back in the 60's. well after a bit of searching i was able to track down the owner that bought the house full of antiques. I called her Monday (she is in her 90's) and she invited me over to talk with her.We had a nice talk and while I was there she showed me 2 pieces of furniture that were in the house when she bought it. one was a china cabinet the other a writing desk.I fell in love with the desk and she offered to sell it to me. I can't tell you what a great feeling it was to bring the desk back to it's original home so many years later. our local paper is going to print a story about it in next weeks paper.

Hey Deb S. ~
Double digits today? I hope you mean above zero! We're having above zero double digits here in San Diego, too. That is if double 7's count!! :->

Good morning, everybody. Who can tell me what's happened to the Bridge Cam ? I grew up on Cooper Avenue up from the bridge and it's my daily way of checking out the day at "home". The Bridge Cam has been stuck since last Friday. By the way, it is still late morning in Kansas.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 12:31 pm:

Do not really know who has control over the bridge-cam camera, but I called the Ramamda Inn and informed them that the camera overlooking their parking lot is stuck on 1-23-09. That was a couple days ago. Lets see what happens.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 02:42 pm:

Mary Drew, you are mean. I am about to go out in the frigid cold and blow away the snow we got today. Before going out I checked Pasty, and there you are rubbing it in about how warm it is in the west. In July when it is 77 in Lake Linden and you are swatting black flies, I will brag about it being warmer here without bugs. Berkley has an ordinance that you are not allowed to harbor flies, mosquitoes, or other flying bothers. Enjoy your family. By the way my son Justin has been promoted to commander of the second shift at the Farmington Police Dept. he must take after Precious.

By Joanne Sherrick (Shedoesnails) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 02:53 pm:

Congratulations Justin for being promoted commander of the Farmington Police Department.
Mikie,you must be so proud.

Since I felt that this post would be inappropriate on the "Political" thread, I am posting here.

My name is Heidi, I don't know who this Joanie is and I am not Snowman. I have my very own identity. Must be a bit of cabin fever? Please, just accept me for who I am. I came on this site to meet new people and enjoy the UP pictures, that was my whole intent.

By Bert Ziulkowski (Bertz2) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 04:28 pm:

Thank you, mickill mouse ! It's been a puzzle....and I sure hope the cam works soon. BZ

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 04:50 pm:

welcome Heidi.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 05:45 pm:

Germangirl, are you from Germany? I had a friend who was a foreign exchange student from Austria back in high school days.

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 06:00 pm:

Great pics!

By Heidi (Germangirl) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 06:24 pm:

Dang, finally a friend, Janie, I was born in Vienna, Austria, couldn't speak a word of English when I came to the states. Can you belive, I flunked German in high school? It was wayyyyy to proper, unlike me!

By Heidi (Germangirl) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 06:31 pm:

Maija, that has to be Finnish for Mary! Thank you so much for the welcome. A sure sign that this site does have people that care.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 06:41 pm:

Hey Mikie,
Didn't mean to rub it in (well, maybe just a little :-> ). Here's something to make up for my insensitivity... a glimpse of the "sunshine" we really came to San Diego to enjoy. Nicole Marie - 4 months old next week!

Mary Drew, you aren't nice. But I'll forgive you since you sent that adorable picture of your granddaughter. She looks just like you, lol!!!! Well, maybe except for the blue eyes. But those could still change.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 07:05 pm:

Welkommen....or how ever you say that in German, Heidi. Glad to have you. If you live near Lansing, I get together with a group of Germans and German-wannabees once a month for a Stammtisch. You're welcome to join us. I am not German, nor do I speak German, but I have lots of fun hanging out with other cultures.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 07:15 pm:

I just talked to someone, again, at the Ramada Inn and the person I spoke to left a message for the owners and lets see what happens.

Mary says: The Bridge Cam is located in a private home (Daryl's) and has nothing to do with the Ramada folks. There must be some technical difficulties that are being worked out, I'm sure.

Mary; absolutely beautiful- little girl.

Mary says again: Thanks so much, we think she's pretty cute, too! :->

Heidi (Germangirl):
"I flunked German in high school"

So we have something in common!

After breezing through two years of Spanish in "Gymnasium" (grammar school, 7th & 8th grade, actually), I went on to try German in high school. Oh what a mistake that was! I finally made it through two semesters, but it was a nightmare!

I guess I should feel lucky that I never tackled the Русский язык!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 08:18 pm:

Mary, what a beautiful ray of sunshine you have. Don't blame you for being there.

By Joanne Sherrick (Shedoesnails) on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 09:08 pm:

Welcome Heidi.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Thursday, January 29, 2009 - 02:41 am:

Thank You for letting us know about the bridge-cam. ;O)

By Cindy Barga (Hoosiergirl) on Thursday, January 29, 2009 - 07:17 am:

Welcome Heidi.I think you will find some friends here. It's ironic that a german girl can flunk german. My son is taking Spanish and he is in class with a girl who is Mexican. She isn't flunking, but isn't doing well because she doesn't use proper grammar.

By Heidi (Germangirl) on Thursday, January 29, 2009 - 09:49 am:

Guten Morgen and thanks for the warm welcomes!
