Over the last 11 years on this day all the pictures were taken by different photograpers - with the exception of one repeat. Who had two?

Great Pictures.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 07:51 am:

Apparently my political comment yesterday got deleted, I have no idea why.

Positive, optimistic comments are always welcome on these pages. Veiled personal attacks and blatant partisan rhetoric may be posted on the Politics forum.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 08:04 am:

Happy Hump Day! Today up to the lower 30's for temps, tomorrow may nudge the 40 degree mark! Yabba Dabba Dooo!

By FJL (Langoman) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 08:06 am:

Maija: Looked like a personal attack. Read the " acceptable use policy."

By Cindy Barga (Hoosiergirl) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 08:11 am:

My post was deleted too. So were others. I didn't find any of them offensive, inflamatory, or personal attacks. I guess we have to keep our ortimism to ourselves.

Such ortimism is welcome on the Politics pages

By Cindy Barga (Hoosiergirl) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 08:12 am:

That should say optimism.

Optimism, too.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 08:43 am:

Look like the deer ran into someones camp?

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 12:56 pm:

Neither of my comments was a personal attack, or blatant bipartisan rhetoric.

Majia - We're sure it was not your intention, but part of you original post was interpreted to be a personal attack, by some who took exception, and by some who took it as an opportunity to express their venom and hostility for our outgoing President. That's what the Political thread is for.

What happened to the Early Bird?

By Steve in IL (Snomonut) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 02:04 pm:

Maija-

This is a place where we all come to VIEW pictures. In fact, it is the first place I visit nearly every single day. It's an awesome place to view pictures of a place we all love.

Please get over your indignation and allow Charlie to monitor HIS FREE WEBSITE as he sees fit.

I will copy this post and save it for the Political section if it winds up deleted

Be our guest

By Cindy Barga (Hoosiergirl) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 03:43 pm:

check out the google add, free grants for republicans. That add should be deleted, it's partisan.

By Snowman (Snowman) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 03:49 pm:

I agree! Free money just for Republicans? A bit of discrimination there, don't you think?

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 04:13 pm:

I'm with changing the subject. I can't wait for spring and spring flowers! This has already been mid-Michigan's 16'th snowiest winter, as in total cumulative snowfall for the year, EVER (as measured at MBS airport), and there are a full two-plus months to add to that total! :-) The local meteorologists think, unless the weather patterns change, we should break the record, with ease, and then some! What a winter for a young boy to be stuck in a cast!

I have never planted from seeds before. The thought of growing spring flowers sooner sounds awesome, if I only had a place indoors to let them germinate, etc. (I'm allergic to molds, so having indoor plants doesn't work here, unfortunately.)

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 04:57 pm:

One winter it snowed to the point I got tired of it. I had a big flower pot I painted. I took a bunch of plastic flowers and set them inside the flower pot and set it out on my patio table. Every time I opened the curtains a little bit, I would see the flowers. It worked til it snowed again then I took the plastic flowers out, shook the snow off them and stuck them back in the pot. It was alright.:O)

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 05:27 pm:

I like that idea, mickill! :-)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 07:11 pm:

Mickill and Marianne, I'm ready for spring too, but I can't think about flowers 'cause all I can think about is all the grass that will need mowing, if it ever dries out, that is.:) But I'll take grass-cutting over snow and ice any day.

By a m hill (Lvcamnotes) on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - 08:47 pm:

Tomorrow is a new day!

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 05:54 am:

Thanks Charlie - very much appreciate all your hard work in monitoring the page!

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 06:30 am:

Thank you, Julie. Mary usually does all of the monitoring, and she is gone this week. My computer died on Tuesday, and when I finally got back on, my attempt to direct the politically-charged conversation to the appropriate page was met with some vigorous objection. What started as an innocent, positive remark had turned into a food fight.

When I get caught up from my computer outage, I will have more to say on the matter over on the 'political' discussion board. May God bless America and bless those who have been passed the responsibility of leading her, as well as those who handed over that responsibility this week.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 07:09 am:

Thank you, Charlie! I felt so bad for not being able to post a positive, supportive comment about our new president on Inauguration Day.

My comments were meant as no more than that!

I will post on politics page for anyone interested in seeing what I said, and I hope others will as well, since I am very interested in their comments.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 07:45 am:

Sorry to hear about your computer Charlie!

Yes, we appreciate Mary too! Since you were 'on duty' yesterday, and being attacked for asking people to honor the rules about the proper page to post comments to, i had to comment.

It is entirely possible to honor the new president without bashing the president who has served America for 8 years.

Thanks again, and God bless you and all the folks who make this page possible - including those who supply all the great pictures we enjoy so much!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 07:59 am:

Thank you, Charlie is right! You and Mary have a very difficult job. I'm sorry I posted anything political on this page but assumed since others were doing it, it was okay because of the inauguration. I did go over to the political page and finish up there. Hope your computer is cooperating now.
