There was a beautiful full moon visible this weekend here in the U.P. (and probably where you live). What year in the last 10 featured a scene under moonlight?

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Monday, January 12, 2009 - 07:22 am:

Good Morning!!

2008

You might be right, Capt., but those floodlights make it hard to tell.

Do I at least get a drumstick out of it?? :-)
Good job John!!

Good Morning, 2001

The caption on the 2001 photo is: Moonlit Winter Wonderland.

Good morning!

I think it was both 2001 & 2008, but that's me.

Have a great day!

It is 2001. Must have been a full moon like we had earlier (Saturday).

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, January 12, 2009 - 07:33 am:

Yup, saw the caption, but figured there was a moon somewhere in 2008. Anyway, great pictures there.

Who'da thunk I'd be happy to have some one give me the bird. Even if it is only half of one. :)

Thank you

What, only 2001?
Ya mean the first picture (1999) doesn't qualify? I guess that must be the setting sun in the background, or a UFO?

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, January 12, 2009 - 12:19 pm:

Good Morning, All! I hope you can get a chance to get outside to enjoy today, before we are in the grips of the Arctic freeze for most of the rest of the week!

That 2001 photo is gorgeous! I love the carved face in the 2005 photo! We have seen a lot of scenes like the one in 2007 photo here in our neck of the woods in mid-Michigan this winter, already. That one could have been taken just about anywhere around here. :-) (They are forecasting a fair amount of snow here again this week, which is surprising, with the frigid temps they are forecasting. I would have thought it will be too cold to snow?)

Hi Pasty Friends,
Not a good day here in my neck of the woods.
My son broke his leg yesterday. (sledding).
Poor little guy is in so much pain and can't get out of bed.which means this Mom is a busy girl.
Have a good day all. I think I will go take a nap while little man is doing the same.

Tony in Rochester: You know what they say: A half a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, January 12, 2009 - 03:07 pm:

I surely hope your son's leg heals quickly! Where is it broken? How old is he? Most of all, I hope the pain eases soon! Are you giving him Motrin or Aleeve, or something? Hang in there, Mom, that's not an easy thing for either of you! I'm guessing it's not even in a cast yet, because it's too swollen? (My oldest broke his leg just above his ankle, when he was about 4. That was a long-ish story, because we were told it was broken, then it wasn't, and then they hunted us down while we were on a trip to Chicago to tell us that it really was broken & it needed to be set, yuck! Meanwhile, my guy was in big pain, and he had to wait until we got back to mid-Michigan to get it set, sigh!)

By Joanne Sherrick (Shedoesnails) on Monday, January 12, 2009 - 03:40 pm:

Marianne,
It's his tibia bone. We take him to bone specialist in the morning. Poor kid.he is 11.
keeping him down is not easy. I hope the pain is better by tomorrow.

By Theresa R. Brunk (Trb0013) on Monday, January 12, 2009 - 04:01 pm:

I remember when my son was 12 he broke his leg while playing football before school. He came home and announced to me that he thinks he broke his leg and I didn't believe him, I sent him back to school and I let it go for a day and a half. When he said he couldn't stand the pain any more I reluctantly took him to the Doctor who told me' Yep, he sure did break his leg, right on his growth plate, it's a small fracture but will probably cause him more pain than a complete break'

"I told you I broke my leg" he said....I have still not lived that down and he's 29 now.

Charlie I tried to shoot some pictures of that moon on 1-10-09 (see my gallery Transplant1977) but they did not turn out as nice as the real thing. That 3x zoom did not help a lot with that moon shot of about 238,712 miles.

Another fine trip down Memory Lane, especially the Winter pics.
