There has never been a week on the main Pasty Cam page without people. In how many days this week (Jan 4 - 10, 2009) did people appear?

By John W Anderson (Wd8rth) on Saturday, January 10, 2009 - 08:20 am:

Good Morning, All!

Actually, there is a guy in the cartoon on January 5th, too. :-) So I guess that makes 4 days?

Has anyone else had enough winter already? Show of hands....I want to get a sunburn.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, January 10, 2009 - 02:46 pm:

Cindy, don't be wishing for that sunburn without s.p.f 85 or higher...2 months ago I had 3 pre-cancerous skin cancer spots removed. Scary stuff!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Saturday, January 10, 2009 - 02:55 pm:

Cindy, I had had enough winter with our storms before Christmas, thank you. :-) This week, though, it looks like we are trading the snow for sub-zero temps around here. I could certainly do without the extreme cold!

Janie & everyone: please be careful with skin cancer, sunburns, et al! The hair stylist whose chair used to be next to the lady who has cut my hair for over 25 years, died of melanoma on Dec. 7. Krista lived a little over 6 months after her diagnosis of melanoma, stage 4, in spite of treatments in Ann Arbor. Krista was 37, a single mom of 2 children, in the 4th and 6th grades, I think it is. Please be careful, you all! That, and my brother has had 2 melanoma in situ's removed, 7 years apart. Most of those can be treated, if you catch them early enough!

The dancing partners in '08 are Ralph Tuttila and Joan, (don't know her last name.) They have danced the tango many times. The pic was taken a few years ago.

I agree with you on the sunscreen and to be careful about the sun. I actually just want to feel the sun on my skin, don't really need a sunburn. I pretty much stay out of the sun or wear sunscreen these days. Living all my teenage years in the UP, I never had the opportunity to develop my sun worshiping gene.

By Cindy Barga (Hoosiergirl) on Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 06:12 am:

I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my nose in 2004. After the surgery to remove the cancer, I had to have reconstructive surgery to make my nose look normal again. So, the moral of the story is; if you have any unusual looking area on your skin it is worth having checked out. I let mine go a little too long, I thought it was just a dry patch of skin, until the day it burst open and bled. I also never laid out in the sun, I just enjoy working in my garden.
