By the way, what does the "Early Bird" win besides a nifty blue sticker???

The respect and admiration of millions.

By Michigander on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 07:32 am:

My 2 cents. I don't mind the new format, but I think that the "Early Bird" should be posted on the opening Big Picture page!

By Bob on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 09:25 am:

By Norma in Midland on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 04:53 pm:

Chuck, Marty, Cousin Ben, Niece Sarah, Grammpa Norm, Cook Doug, I want you to know NOW that I will be at deer camp in November of 2005. That is the big 50 for me and I get what I want!! Just know now that you will not keep me away. You haven't been around for 50 Years on my birthday, I want to celebrate up there with you.

By UC,LB on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 04:57 pm:

I don't care if your 100, no women at deer camp! especially sisters!

By Nephew Ben - Little betsy on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 04:58 pm:

Ma (norma), you are not invited and i think you would be disinherited if you showed up at deer camp. and i think all of the loyal little betsy readers would agree, deer camp is for the men of the family only... i do miss you mommy and would love to spend your birthday with you but duty calls and bambi is going to get away unless i go after him. plus, you will have maddie (a shih tzu) to keep you company! love your son, ben

By maijaMI on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 04:58 pm:

Uncle Chuck: No I can't calm Marty down; in fact I'm thinking of riling him up!

Hey, I saw that invite for coffee. Careful! I'm retired, and you just might get an unwanted female visitor.

By UC,LB on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 05:12 pm:

Maija: Retired? You should be U.P. there now, not down here, lol!

By football fan on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 05:15 pm:

GO TECH, TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS! JUST DO IT!

By MartyLB on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 05:28 pm:

Hey i'll be calm just as soon as i get to the other side of the portage canal lift bridge..

By Norma in Midland on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 05:47 pm:

Thank you Ben (nephew) my only son, who doesn't want to spend my birthday with me but with a deer, he will never see. I guess I will have to learn to live with your all decision. Maija if you go I get to go (whom ever you are). I will spend another birthday alone, I guess i should be use to it by now. At least all of you call and sing to me.... Maddie won't like you anymore Ben because you won't let us come up there...

By Ronald Oregon on Friday, November 5, 2004 - 10:15 pm:

I hope I can post just one election message here?

I and most of the people I know just are baffled that we actually
voted to return to office the worst president in the history of
America.
This time we actually voted him to office.

I believe that we are in for a very very difficult time for years to
come because of this event.

By maijaMI on Saturday, November 6, 2004 - 06:16 am:

Norma: ever think of setting a different day for your birthday celebration? My daughter got so busy, working full time, getting a masters degree full time, new gentleman friend; and my son works a totally different shift than she does, both hours and days. So one year we decided to just arbitrarily pick a day whenever we could all get together and do all the birthdays. Last year was great--kinda a no pressure day, a treat out of nowhere.
