Past-E-Mail: Various Topics: Misc Fall 2004: Hotspots

I just returned from the CC. Had a nice weekend in the Hancock/Calumet area. I had asked about hotspots last week and was told where to find them. I tried the Stillwater's location and was able to connect. The only thing I could not do was send email. Does one need some special password to do that?

Tom,

If you are a Pasty.NET member, your regular mailserver settings work on the wireless. If you were trying to send via an "out of network" mailserver (Charter, Comcast, etc.), they probably prohibited your access.

There are 2 possible solutions:

1. Ask your ISP if they have secure mailserver access. At Pasty.NET, we provide this for our members, so that they can connect from ANY network (hotel hotspots, Internet cafes, etc.)

2. Consider a Pasty.NET Lite membership. For just $59 for six months, or $99/year, it gives you access not only to outgoing mailservice, but also to the Nationwide Dial-in network, when you are away from any kind of high speed access. Call us toll-free for details 1-800-327-0966.
