Only one out of the last 10 years had no snow in the picture on this day. What was the year and who was the photographer?

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 07:58 am:

Good Morning!!

2006 and the photographer was Stanley Spruce.

Good morning! It's back to work this morning.

Thank you all who have sent me personal e-mails about the loss of my dad. You can't know how much it means to me. Work will be hard today, but hopefully it will start the healing process.

Have a great day!

I LOVE THAT WINTER ROSE PICTURE.

IT IS SNOWING HERE. MY SWEETIE HAS ALREADY BEEN OUT THERE TWO TIMES SHOVELING THE SNOW. HE DOES IT BEFORE THE GROUNDS CREW EVEN WAKE UP. THERE IS ABOUT 5 INCHES OF SNOW OUT THERE RIGHT NOW. BE EXTRA CAREFUL OUT THERE.

By Greta Armata (Gretania) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 08:17 am:

Mornin' all. Blizzard-like conditions here in the Milwaukee area, foiling my vacation day to finish Christmas shopping. Seems like a good day to catch up on corresponding, though, with a big mug of coffee. At least I don't have to go in to work fighting the traffic, but I will have to go out and feed the birds and squirrels.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 08:17 am:

That ole' Bird was a wiley adversary this morning; I had to be quick on the draw so I didn't miss because I knew there were more hunters lurking beyond the trees that would surely bag um'......

I guess you could say I "had a little Captain in me"!! ;-)

When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far benaeth the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

Good Morning. It's snowing hard here in central Michigan. looks like a good day to make snow ice-cream. Have a great day pasty friends.

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 10:12 am:

Good morning all! I've had about all of this fall I can take! Winter will soon be here.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 01:01 pm:

Good afternoon from Mishawaka, IN. We have had snow, sleet, rain, including thunder and lighting over night and today. My husband is out trying to get the walks and cars clear of the ice. A snowblower is of no use today.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 02:59 pm:

Capt. it is about time you get the coveted early bird. Snowed here in Berkley, daughter Dani came over and helped snow blow the walks and driveway. With two blowers it still took an hour to clean everything up. They haven't plowed the streets yet. Had a police cruiser get stuck at the end of my driveway. Took two trucks and half a dozen city workers to get him loose. I drove by in the mini van, asked him if he wanted to borrow it for the day to complete his patrol.

Wonderful pics on the slide show today!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 04:01 pm:

Mike...6 city workers means there must have been 2 leaning on the shovels, 3 drinking coffee and 1 actually doing the work :)

By Snowman (Snowman) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 04:20 pm:

The weather outside is a blizzard,
It's really hurtin' my old gizzard.
If there's no bar left to see,
Stay home and have another brewski!

Dedicated to Uncle Chuck, who doesn't give a Buck!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 04:20 pm:

The one working was my son in law. Whenever I see him at a work site he is working and the others are standing around watching him. Ken is one of the people who can't sit around. Has to keep working. Not saying that since we are related, but he just is a worker. Must be that Painsdale blood in him.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Friday, December 19, 2008 - 05:23 pm:
