Who was Calumet's Postmaster in 1998?

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 08:18 am:

Postmaster Pini
First Post
Correct, that's Dennis Pini, who happens to be the brother of our weekday Pasty Cam hostess, Mary Drew.

IT'S SNOWING, IT'S SNOWING. ;O)

By Snowman (Snowman) on Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 04:06 pm:

Let it snow, snow, snow!
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
The fire inside delightful,
If there's no place left to go,
Let's have a brewsi and watch it blow.

Attend the family gathering for the boys who have been deployed. It was a sad/happy time. There was a room so families could get their pictures taken with their Soldier....plenty of goodies that were donated. A beautiful FLAG cake donated by Rays Bakery in Houghton

A nice send off for our boys. Please remember them in your prayers this next year. They will be missed by their family.

God's speed and blessings we send with them today.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 07:43 pm:

Lots of heart-filled blessings and God's speed.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 08:40 pm:

I would like to let everyone know that Precious and I have been blessed with a new boy in our life. He is a strapping five feet six and around one thirty five pounds. He is a Tunisian exchange student whose host parents lost their jobs and had to let him go. He will be our son till June of next year. He will be attending school with Andrea the Irish dancer. Jimmie the fat white cat is looking forward to someone else to pet him. He plays the piano and the guitar, so Precious being a musician will have someone to practice with. I will be handing out cigars to any one in the neighbor hood. Its lonely in this big house, maybe it will liven up again.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 10:13 pm:

You guys are very nice people, Mikie. I'm so happy for Jimmie, the Fat, White cat, lol.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 10:57 pm:

Congratualtions on the new addition to your family, Mikie! I'll echo what Deb said here above....you are very nice people. Not everyone is willing to open up their home like that. Thank you for being one that is. Have fun with your new strapping boy! :->

By Betty Paull Colborn,AZ (Betty) on Monday, December 1, 2008 - 01:42 am:

Mikie, that is so great what you and Precious are doing for the young lad. Did you get enough snow today? Heard you were getting alot.

By Danbury (Danbury) on Monday, December 1, 2008 - 06:17 am:

Hi Japei - been to Saariselkä for skiing. Twice. Loved it. Still dream of returning one day ...

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Monday, December 1, 2008 - 06:47 am:

Mikie--So glad that you and Precious could make room for one
more. To that student you will be the "face of America" -- and
that's a very good thing.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, December 1, 2008 - 11:53 am:

Thank you all. It gets lonely here in this big house. Now maybe I can get him to empty the dishwasher. One job I hate to do.We are supposed to treat him as one of us. So I guess I will be yelling about picking up and hanging his coat just like I do with the others when they come over. He will be overwellmed with all the relatives that are always around here. Not much snow but it is cold. I will have to raise the temperture for him no doubt. I like it around 65 but I realize most people like it a little warmer.
