Which Pasty Cam guest photographer captured the old car with the 'trunk in front'?

By Betty Paull Colborn,AZ (Betty) on Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 03:28 am:

That would be Joe Kirkish. Great picture. Have a good Thursday everyone.

King Lake Illusion is gorgeous!!!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 07:19 am:

Good Morning, Everyone! There's frost on the pumpkin this morning here, in mid-Michigan! It was 28 at 6 a.m., and the temperature should drop another couple of degrees in the next hour or so. I hope all is well with you all. Congratulations, Betty, on your Early Bird! How is your husband doing with his shoulder and all? I hope you are both doing well!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 07:48 am:

I agree, King Lake Illusion gets my vote.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 08:13 am:

I also like the King Lake one. Joe Kirkish is one of my favorite local photographers and that was a fun one of his with the trunk.

King Lake is my background today....Calgon, take me there.

Way to go Betty, we Oaks can sure win here. To bad they got rid of the school. Made Kimball the Royal Oak High School. Did your hats make it to you?

By Betty Paull Colborn,AZ (Betty) on Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 03:07 pm:

Thank you Marianne. Hubby did so good with the operation. Surgeon said he'd be lucky to be able to feed himself, but he can raise the arm straight up and does better than the other shoulder.
Thank you Mike. Yes, the boys received the hats and love them. They are just like yours. Thanks for your help.

By James Ludos (Homesick) on Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 03:22 pm:

Hey Russell,

I think your right on, I think it's a '50. The grill work was just a little different on the '49 as was the glass with not so much of a curve on the outer edges like the '50 had. Car company's had just figured out how to go from flat glass to glass with curves and each year for awhile it seemed like it took on more of a curve and it wouldn't be much longer and they would be getting rid of the split glass and going with a single piece in front.

I think it's a '51 or '52 Chevy. My brother had a '49 and this one looks a little newer. Looks like this one is getting great gas mileage for the last 40 years or so. :o)
