On this day, in which year did Steve Brimm show us some vivid Keweenaw color?

By Smfwlk (Trollperson) on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 04:43 am:

1998. Mornin'

Those certainly were vivid Keweenaw colors, but not from Steve Brimm.

Howdy,

2000

Ten seconds sooner and you would have had your bird.
Sounds like my experience with pheasants.

Speaking of birds, here's an interesting link about humming birds.
Especially see the final photo.

Mornin' all. Charlie, was the camera at the old radar base moved? The picture on it now is a view I haven't seen before.

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 06:50 am:

The Keweenaw County Sheriff's department can pan the camera around, so you are seeing where it was last pointed. Looks like quite a bit of color up at Mt. Horace Greeley.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 07:19 am:

THE COLORS ARE NOT QUITE CHANGING YET WHERE I LIVE. WHEN THEY DO I AM GOING TO TAKE PICTURES. SEE IF I CAN CAPTURE THE SAME BRILLIANT PICTURES AS IN COPPER HARBOR. IT IS JUST NOT THE SAME AS IN THE KEWEENAW AREA. ;O)

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 07:53 am:

Good morning! Beautiful color up there. There is very little color here yet. By the time the leaves start to change, the wind will be so powerful that we won't get to enjoy them.

Loved Z-Man's picture.

Excellent color!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 08:04 am:

I bet there is a Crayola crayon named for each of those colors! Happy 29th Golden Birthday on today the 29th to my daughter Michelle!

{Mickill mouse} why do you keep 'SHOUTING'..:)

By Gary Hookway (Ghookway) on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 10:12 am:

Good morning everyone. What are the blue stones with the holes in them, and how are the holes formed? My wife and I have a few of them that we use for candle holders.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 10:16 am:

TO FJL (LANGOMAN) I AM NOT SHOUTING (SAID WITH A SMILE) IT IS JUST EASIER TO READ AT TIMES. ;0). I DO UNDERSTAND IT INDICATES THAT I AM SHOUTING, BUT I AM NOT...

We just got back from a 4 day weekend in the Keweenaw. Friday was a great day to drive out to the Rocket Range, looks just like the 2006 picture. I use the term "road" loosely, the last three miles where the worsts. didn't need the 4-wh drive, but the clearance was nice. Also, had a great time at Fort Wilkins and there Geocaching the Keweenaw event.

John W A...could you explain just what geocashing is? Seems I read about it last year somewhere. But can't remember details. Sounds like fun.

By John W Anderson (Wd8rth) on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 08:02 am:

Morning Kay (Mskatie)
Geocaching is a worldwide game of hide & seek. People hide a container (cache) somewhere in the wood, in the city, down the street. then with your GPS receiver you enter the LAT. & LON. and try to find the cache. There are more then 100 cache in the Copper Country and 1500 in the UP. Go to www.geocaching.com for more information.
