It's quite the cloudy day here on the Pasty Cam pages, thanks to Carolyn Rowland and Donna MacIntosh. They both were out with they're cameras recently, snapping records of a storm that was brewing over the Big Lake. Carolyn was visiting the Redridge area, enjoying the beach and the water with friends, when the clouds in the first two photos just rolled in around them. They almost look like a long arm and big hand coming to grab onto the land, just watch out for the storm that follows them onto the shore.

Then Donna ventured out before the storm actually hit and captured the darkness that envelopes the skies, in what looks like moments before the clouds let loose and rain down upon us. Quite impressive, these clouds are amazing forces of nature at work.

I was just talking to Carolyn recently. She didn't tell me about these great photos that she shot. Nice job, Carolyn!

Great Shots, I love watching storms.

Hi
MUCH more picturesque than my recent experience of similar clouds over a grocery store parking lot!

I love watching storms out on the water. The last time I was up north there were numerous "scattered showers" as the weatherman says moving across and sometimes coming ashore.

Looks to me like the November Witch might be starting to brew a little early this year; a little pre-season practice, if you will.....

I'm here in Highlands,Colorado & was so busy yesterday that I didn't realize there were tornado warnings here until I heard about them today on the news. There were a couple that touched down not far from here in Castle Rock. I knew it was dark outside & raining abit but didn't have the TV on so didn't pay much attention. If I'd known I'd probably have been terrified!! My daughter had back surgery last week so I'm playing the Florence Nightinggale role for a few weeks.

Take care out there Cheryl. Enjoy the beauty of the area whenever you can. Saw some pretty awesome storms near Cheyenne (but that was over 50 years ago). Good of you helping your daughter. Sure a big difference between Colorado and the UP. But still prefer Lake Superior!

Terrific images!

It was a cool storm to watch. Luckily it never hit us, but crawled up over the land. My son dubbed it a T-Rex because it sorta looked like one attacking the point near Edgemere. I waited for big waves and rain, but it went completely around us.

Hi, Carolyn -

The cloud pictures are excellent. I posted them (with attribution) on alt.binaries.pictures.weather, and they were very well appreciated there. One person suggested that they should be sent to the Cloud Appreciation Society for their Web site. What do you think of that?

Dave,

Sure, no problem. I didn't realize there was a cloud appreciation society! There are a couple more in my pasty gallery. I'm glad people are enjoying them. That was one really cool set of clouds!
