If you drive along the highways of the Upper Peninsula, you're bound to see an eagle either in flight or sitting atop the trees, checking its surroundings for a possible free meal. But in the case of our first shot today, it looks like our photographer, Frederic W. Koski climbed to the top of a tree himself and is going to get a visit from a young bald eagle. Now I've heard of getting "up close and personal", but this looks like a head-on collision waiting to happen!

Then Dorothy Stewart sent us another eagle. This one seems to be preoccupied with something other than the person snapping the photo, so we get a good profile view, hooked beak and all. Almost like he knows how majestic he looks and struck a pose for the camera.

The last picture today, comes from Judy Byykkonen and shows us the extreme size difference you can find in the birds UP here...from the large eagle, to the small newborn Robin perhaps, in the nest. Before I go further with my notes, let me state clearly, that Judy snapped this photograph after observing that the Mother bird was away from the nest and she did not touch the nest or the baby bird in any way.

This little newborn, looks to be all mouth right now, so I'd have to guess that Mom is out searching for something to feed her new little fuzzball. It won't be long and she'll have two mouths to feed.

Baby birds are not the most attractive, but they sure turn out to be beauties!!!

Robins were my favorite bird as a child growing up in the Soo. First sign of Spring and the herald of morning. Now that I am in Florida, when they return I find I call my sister Carol, still residing in the Soo, to tell her Spring is only weeks away for her. It's like our own personal groundhog day :)

Last evening, just before dark, I watched an owl lurking in our meadow. They are pretty cool birds too!

That first picture is probably what a Yorkshire Terrier sees before his first flight.

We are getting the Eagle eye in that first shot. I have seen more Eagle's here in TN. then any other place I've been. Earlier this Spring I got a good look at one just like in the top picture.

That top picture is one of the most phenomenal pictures I've ever seen. EXCELLENT!!!
