A city and a lighthouse both were mentioned twice on this day of the Pasty Cam over the last decade. What is the name of the city and the light?

The pasty counter hasn't changed for a while. What's UP with that?

Astute observation, Mr. Rowdy. As you may know, pasty shipments during the summer are suspended because of heat in much of the country. There are still hundreds of pasties shipped every week to local outlets (see the list), but these don't trigger the counter through the online order form. Usually at the end of the month (July and August) the counter is updated)

Good job, Dave! I love White City. Mr. Deb doesn't like it as much as Big and Little Traverse because usually the waves aren't coming in as big there. He likes to ride the waves in, and plus the waves stir up the bottom and make the water warmer. Two more weeks before we can experience the Great Lakes, Michigan and Superior. Can't wait to get to the dunes along US2, and then up to the Copper Country for a (more than) refreshing swim in Mother Superior.

Good morning everybody!!! Loved the flowers in the Eagle River shot. In the Class of '43 shot, the lady sitting out on the steps looks just like my former sister-in-law.

Great pictures once again.

Good Morning Everyone!

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 09:12 am:

Deb, you guys must be excited. I have not had much time to go exploring so far this summer and with Taylor downstate at his dads I am waiting to do the stuff he would really like until he gets home. He loves waterfalls and was happy I hadn't gone to see any yet cause he would have missed it. The weather has been weird too not any hot days which is good but we could actually see our breath on Saturday out at Rabbit Bay. My daughter is nuts and went swimming anyway just wore a wetsuit.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 09:28 am:

Yeah, we are excited. My fear though is as you say, the weather hasn't been very warm and I'm afraid the lake isn't going to warm up enough. Not that it ever warms up, but it's usually tolerable. I'm hoping Lake Michigan will be nice. Last year it was so nice, we were probably in it for at least an hour. The dunes are a great place to enjoy that lake. And at the same time, we can enjoy the bridge!!!!

Sure wish I could find a local map of Keewinaw. Now where is Rock City? Yesterday I needed directions to that lighthouse on Isle Royal.I definetaly need to spend some time exploring the area at a slow pace. Maybe next year.

1943 The year that I was born. Maybe there is life after sixty five.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 11:29 am:

Mikie, I have 2 Grandmothers in their 80's and they both get out more than I do.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 03:39 pm:

Leavin this weekend for the Keweenaw, have all next week off, well not really, in sales and straight commission you never have it totally off. Mix work with play, I can handle that. Don't care if the Gitch is cold- Im goin swimin! Gotta have a pasty or two, a prune tart in Laurium, a muffin at Great Sand Bay, and a thimbleberry sunday in the Harbor, a pizza from Jim's in Calumet, and a whitefish dinner or two, and a patty melt from the Hut. That sums U.P. a week's worth of meals, better bring my bike for exercise too-lol, stack the firewood, and cut the grass- probably 2 feet long by now. Ok Norma and Charlie get the boat ready, time to go to Keystone Bay!

my second ever early bird :) That was tough today...I'm atill not awake.

Never been to White City or that lighthouse. Suppose I should.

Hey Deb...will see you in a couple of weeks :)
How about a date ?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 09:33 pm:

I think we tried the date thing before, Dave. It didn't work out since we were cousins and such. LOL Do you still know the guy who helped set us up? I think my old friend still lives in Lake Linden. Never see her though.
It'll be really nice to see you.
