On a recent return drive to the U.P., Bob Gilreath wasn't stuck behind traffic, he had something else traveling up ahead of him. He said "We followed this thunder storm from Duluth to Bruce crossing, never quite catching it, but with the sun going down behind us, we enjoyed 3 hours of beautiful viewing on the ride home. Better to follow the storm than drive through the middle of it.

I'd like to dedicate this farm country picture to my nephew, Kevin Pini, whom we will lay to rest today. Kevin was a farmer at heart, raising pigs and planting crops. You can view his obituary on the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home webpage.

The rainbows are a lovely tribute. Blessings on all of your family.

Very pretty pictures. Thanks.

And may your nephew find his Reward and Treasure awaiting him at the end of His rainbow.

Nice Mary! And know that I'll be thinking about all of you today and praying that you have the strength that Kevin showed through this terrible illness he had. What an inspiration he was to everybody. I wish I could have known him. Hugs to you and your family.

Your precious Kevin is now at peace. May all your family and friends also find peace in the coming difficult times. God bless all of you.

Bob, I was traveling from Minneapolis on June1st and had the opportunity to see a double rainbow and follow it from south of Duluth Ironwood and then it got dark out so we lost it to the night.

Mary, I am sorry for your loss and please express my prayers and thoughts to Kevin's family.

Mary, What an awesome picture to dedicate in memory of Kevin. I can just see him in the field driving his tractor, waving with a smile on his face. He always had a smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family. He was a great guy and will be missed. Love and Prayers, Joe,Rosie and Jud

Marq

Sounds like I was about 30 minutes ahead of you taking these pictures.

What a drive it was. I have more shots of the train ride from duluth to two harbors and bonus shots in two harbors with the 1000 footer Spears and the integrated 1000 ft tug and barge Isle Royale backing out of the docks.

As soon as I upload them I'll post the link.

...where troubles melt like lemon drops, oh, way above the chimney tops...

I used to be so afraid to watch that show. Those flying monkeys terrified me. I didn't even realize she was having a dream until I was an adult. I might have to watch the Wizard of Oz again. I'm much braver now.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, June 9, 2008 - 06:47 pm:

That's where you'll find me......

She was having a dream?? That movie will never be the same now. It seemed so real to me.

I used to be afraid to get up and go to the bathroom during that movie. It seemed awfully dark off the kitchen, and you never knew where you were gonna see that witch and her monkeys.
