Good morning on a beatiful sunny Saturday, coming to you from Grand Blanc in the L.P. Wonder if anyone in town here will be traveling to the U.P. for the holiday weekend?

Is it morning already? Wow! It's a positively beautiful day to be alive...the sky is blue and the birds are singing and I don't HAVE to do anything. I'm lovin' it!!

There have been many negative statements about Detroit but Sports Illustrated ranked it #1 town in America.
Tonight we have Redwings, Pistons and Tigers all having home games, festival downtown and the greatest fishing in the country right here on the Detroit River.(Also some 434 lakes in Oakland County)

Hope all have a safe weekend and remember what the parades are all about i.e. our great soldiers who have fought for our freedom. (I remember being in the Calumet parade in '52&'53 as a member of the Michigan National Guards)

Wow Tom, that was beautiful, thanks for posting the link. Listening to the choir sing the Battle Hymn of the Repulic reminded me that the annual Memorial Day Concert from Washington, D.C. is on Public TV tomorrow evening. Locally here in the Keweenaw, it's on WNMU Public TV13, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. We always enjoy the music and the honoring of our servicemen and women. Tune in tomorrow evening, you won't be sorry you did!!

My daughter Katie will be on the Capitol lawn in Washington DC to hear the National Symphony in person. I'll have to watch the TV to see if I can see her in the crowd.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Sunday, May 25, 2008 - 09:43 am:

The singing on the link was truly beautiful, but personally, I would rather have just seen the singers!

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Sunday, May 25, 2008 - 10:14 am:

I sent the singing to my neice Jeri who is serving in Iraq for the third time. Send your prayers to all of them for a safe and timely return.
