Our little Red Wings fan in the first photo is probably celebrating this morning, as the crew from Detroit defeated Dallas at home last night to move on the the Stanley Cup finals.

UPDATE ON MY NEPHEW KEVIN:
I am once again here, asking all you good Pasty Cam viewers to pray for Kevin. It will be a year this Friday, May 23rd, that he had his bone marrow transplant. We just found out last Friday that the Leukemia is back again. It is a strong, aggressive Leukemia, so they are once again treating him with a high dose chemo to try to put the Leukemia in remission. If they get it in remission, they will then proceed with another bone marrow transplant. Please keep him in your prayers that he can once again beat this cancer. Thank you.

I had been wondering about how Kevin was doing. All good thoughts coming from here also.

My very close friend who has leukemia had a similar setback, but he is now doing quite well. I sincerely wish the same for Kevin.

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 05:49 pm:

Hello Pastyland,
Had something devastating happen here at The Villages Golf and Country Club Sunday morning. An Eightplex condo unit caught on fire, 4 units completely gutted, the other 4 I'm sure will be a total loss from fire, smoke and water damage right next to my home.

I had considerable water damage too, but the firemen saved my home. (San Jose's Best) It seems the pressure from those hoses is so hard it goes right thru the stucco. It buckled the screen and came thru a closed window and thru the roof.

I lost one of my neighbors in the fire and five firefighters were put in the hospital. Only one has been released as of now. It was a very quick moving fire where the neighbors had to run for their lives. They could not save anything.

Just got my power back on today but no gas as yet. It seems there is something going on between the city inspector and the gas company and they cannot get together to get the people's gas put back on. Sounds like Washington - nothing gets done when you need it.

Except for the strong smell of smoke around here, everything is OK.
http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_9303444?source=rss_viewed according to the papers the condo they were unable to access was were they found the body. It is also where the fire started, not in the upstairs unit. The fire was contained in the middle of the afternoon but they were still pouring water on it at 8 o'clock in the evening. The fire department watched it all night long as it kept steaming/smoking.

Bev, Will be thinking about you now. I'm so glad you're safe and so sorry for your neighbor. You take care of yourself. How's your daughter doing?

Bev: I'm so glad that you are safe and sound.

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 09:47 pm:

Thank you everyone for your concern. I often think that you save and collect your little treasures for a lifetime, and they are scattered about your home in those special little places that please you on a daily basis that bring you happiness and wonderful memories. . . which one of these treasures would you take if you had no time to decide but had to leave your home immediately? Or do you just carry them in your mind and know that you had them for a little while?
Beverly

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 10:25 pm:

Thanks for all your prayers and wishes on Kevin's behalf.
Bev, glad you are safe and sound, even though a bit soggy at the moment. To answer your question, in my mind, possessions can be replaced and those that can't you do just as you said, "carry them in your mind". The same with the people we lose in our lives, we carry them in our minds and our hearts forever.
