Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning, is part of an old weather proverb that can sometimes accurately predict the weather. It's actually the first thing I thought of when I saw this picture from Donna MacIntosh. That is definitely one red tinged skyline. In the right hand corner of the photo, you can see a golden glow beginning, indicating that it wasn't much longer after the photo was taken that the sun actually made it's appearance over the horizon in the Baraga area. Thanks for the glowing job, Donna!

Beautiful picture, but you're right, Mary. The sailors better get off the lake or batten down the hatches.

It almost looks like a fire in the background, it really is beautiful.

I have a fiery glow on Monday mornings too! Then it goes away when I get home from work. :)

Great photo Donna! Wow nature is miraculous. It's a great day for a Monday. The mosquitoes are flying. They are small but for anyone north of my area which is Menominee, it will not be long for you. So get those out of door jobs done before they start to hatch up there and then the "The Bite Season" starts.

Miss Mary. Have a question about the "Guests' Gallery" of photography. What happened to it? Used to be so easy to look at all the wonderful photos! Now I can't figure out which end is up!!!!! I know I'm not good with computers but what am I messing up that makes it so confusing? Holy Wah! it was so much fun but now I get so frustrated I just give up and go away. Any idea what I might do to figure it out? Thanks a bunch!

Mary says: Hi Kay ~ I'm going to have to defer to Jon or Charlie on this one, because they're the guys with the answers about the gallery right now.
I do know that it's still in the process of being upgraded and when it's complete there will be a "Photographer links" page similar to the one we had before, where you'll be able to just click on someone's name to find their gallery. My suggestion for figuring out the new gallery, would be to go ahead and just play around with it, while the upgrade is being completed. Then hopefully once it's done, things will be a bit easier to find where everything is.
If you'd like to check out the new gallery, click here: Guest Gallery Albums (under construction).
If you have any specific questions about navigating around the new gallery, feel free to email me with them at: mdrew@pasty.com

Thanks!

I got an email awhile back, stating that Listerine (the old fashioned brand) when spritzed around the ground, etc..(NOT on you) will kill skeeters. Don't know if it works or not, but I've got a bottle ready to try.

Yeah...the colors in the picture sure stand out!

The gallery is getting new software. It really is taking awhile, isn't it? And certainly not quite user friendly at this point!

Beautiful sunrise. I have a similar one take at Silver Mountain a couple of years ago.
