These photos from Brooke Gubacz were actually taken a couple of days ago, so the snow has gone down some since then, but there's still enough out there that you need snowshoes to walk on top of it, or you'll sink to your knees for sure. Looks like Taylor and Sammy were having a good time, even with a stumble or two along the way. If you're puzzled by the second shot, as to what Sammy is leaning on, it's the clothesline pole in their back yard. Reminds me of the Jeff Foxworthy jokes: If you can stand next to your clothes pole in the winter and rest your elbows on the crossbar, you might be a Yooper. :-> Actually though, I seem to remember Brooke posting a few days ago, that she was able to hang her clothesline the other day. Of course she still had to use snowshoes to do it, so it'll probably be awhile before she'll be hanging any clothes out to dry on those lines.

I hear you on this years snow depth - we have a great pic of my son sitting on our bird feeder just outside our front door!! Seems that we had more snow on the ground this year than ever, but our total snowfall was not significantly more than usual.

Looks like fun. We have no snow left but I sure do wish it'd warm up.

The snow in the Iron Mountain Area is almost all gone. The only snow around here is in the woods or in areas that get relatively little sun. What a difference between here and the Lake Superior region!

Clothesline is all set now, and it will be a while before I use it. Once all the snow melts and mud dries up I'm sure. If anyone wants that snow they can have it, the melt is making its way into my basement.

We were just up in Marquette over the weekend and got to tour the Dead River Falls area. Beautiful! Anyway, we were amazed at the amount of snow still in the area.

Hilarie - don't speak too soon. We are under a heavy snow warning for tonight and tomorrow. Sounds like we might be sledding down your hill one more time?

Have a great afternoon everyone!

That's a lot of snow, Brooke! Cute pictures of your kids! Brook, would sandbags keep it out? Or could you channel the runoff into little creeks, away from the house, or something?

I was going to say, Halwine, careful what you say. I read that Marquette & Ishpeming were expecting about a foot of new, heavy, wet snow tonight and tomorrow!

Just came in from mowing the lawn for the third time, (couldn't get it right the first time) and I got a good sweat going, so cranked the air up some more and got a glass of Ice tea. The neighborhood Women are out Sunbathing. I love Spring!

Two days ago I was in Tennessee. It was 72 and sunny. The trees were green and flowers blooming I had just gotten off the river from kayaking and was catching a cat nap on my kayak in just a pair of shorts and was warm. Tonight I am listening to my wood stove crackle and watching the snow fall outside as I try to thaw my frozen kayak gear I forgot to bring in from outside. Whether warm or cold what a beautiful season.
