I had forgotten about that tunnel under the highway up at Great Sand Bay. Will have to go up and look for it when the snow is gone.

Good morning, all. It is a rainy day in the area N/W of Chicago. It does beat snow.
It is amazing how you can always recognize a photo by Dan Urbanski. It would be great if his family would produce a coffee table book of his wonderful photos

I agree...the photo by Dan Urbanski is awesome. He sure had a good eye for shots. We are blessed that he walked in our lives and left his legacy for us. God knew what he was doing when he put Dan Urbanski in Michigan.

Good morning All, Looks like one more dumping of snow for the Copper Country. Good thing is that it doesn't late long.
In last weeks pasty cameo about churches, there was a picture of a log church. is that the chapel in Copper Harber?? when I first saw it I went back to my summers at Camp Michigamme. they also have a log chapel.

Also, is there a problem with the photo gallery?
I get a error message when I try to go there.

John - Thanks for pointing out the problem with the Gallery. We are working on restoring it to proper operation. As for the chapel picture, it is from Copper Harbor, which was the site of the day on Sep 25-2004

I love Dan Urbanski's beaded birds nest shot. His work is magnificant. But the Mackinaw Bridge is one of my favorite places to be. Kinda partial to that one as well.

The Tunnel at Sand Bay always captured our imaginations as children. When Dad walked through to the other side, we thought he was gonna die! Then playing in there when the wind blew became old hat.

Here are a few pictures I scanned from slides of the Chapel at Michigamme Methodist Institute.
I think is called the Bill Hampton Chapel, names for the late camp manager.

Good Afternoon everyone. It turned out to be a nice day here in Houghton. 46 degrees and sunny.
Heavy wet snow was in the forecast but now dosen't look like it's going to come hopefully.

Good afternoon everyone, today is my daughters 14th birthday. She spent it leaving her beloved UP for a rainy Virginia Beach. Poor kid.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, March 30, 2008 - 10:08 pm:

Happy birthday to your daughter, Brooke. Tomorrow is my granddaughter's 9th birthday, and it's also my parent's anniversary. I believe it will be 57 years. WOW!!! They were proud to have their great-granddaughter (the very first girl in the family since me) born on their anniversary.
